Okay, so this may be controversial, but i think i'm over the tvfan.
So let me explain.
I've been out of town, away from computer and cell phone range for nearly 2 weeks now (and i know, how DID i survive?), I come back to find that all of my "open" throwdowns...well the only one i have...is still open.
What the heck happened to the 24 hour rule with the back and forth? That was a little short i'll admit, especially when all us cube people go home for the weekend and don't feel the need to waste so much time. But really, it's been well over two weeks now. And did i mention that this throwdown was in the bag. I'm in no danger of losing this thing, so will some moderator just call it already???
And this hurts me because it doesn't give me the back and forth that I loved about this site. Not to mention it clogs up the directory...there's like nothing new for me to comment on.
Also let's discuss this filter for a minute....there are plenty of words that i agree should not be on here because of the environment, who knows how old everyone is. Certainly not everyone should be subjected to my potty mouth...or potty keyboard as the case may be.
But really i can't say wrong (take away the W-R and substitute a D)?
Or can't say kate (take away the K and sub a H)?? This is the one that really gets me...i can't talk about my severe dislike for someone in a short succinct way???
I hate to say it, but unless some things get fixed up around here, I really will be over this. And then what will i do at work????

while i agree with your sentiment we must also understand this is relatively new. we have had a writers strike and shortened season. i think next fall will yield some fantastic give and take on here. as for the language paretns should bemonitoring what their children are doing online. while i can only think of SEVEN WORDS that should be blocked i understand the larger frame. we need context people. i am a parent and a teacher. i am sick of living ina pg13 world!

I think they're still working out the kinks. I wish there was more variety on the site. All the blogs seem to be about AI or Lost. And I mean, I love Lost, but I don't read a lot of the blogs because I've been avoiding spoilers all season long. I don't even watch the previews for the next week. And I'm not a big AI fan. I haven't watched the show in years. I'm looking forward to the end of its season.

i certainly understand kinks being worked out...isn't that why the 24 hour rule was removed? but why not replaced with some sort of other time limit?
as far as language, i certainly think we agree, there are very few words that i think SHOULD be allowed, but the one that really angers me and makes me question their filter is my second example...that in no way shape or form is a word that should be filtered out....
i just find it hard to wade through throwdowns and am reluctant to create new ones for fear that it will never end....
