Ok everyone.....I have decided to finally come out of hiding and write my very first blog......yes that is right, it is my first time. Maybe it was the spell that David Cook has put on me.....maybe it was the 3 glasses of wine I just drank......anyway, I will make this short and sweet.
Archie - "And so it goes" and "Longer" Ok, honestly.....they were pretty much as predictable as you can be. I didn't mind "And so it goes" but my adult ADD kicked in during Longer and I don't really remember much of what happened. "With you" however, is a completely different story. I probably will remember this due to the fact that I was laughing through the most of it and then feeling kind of uncomfortable hearing Archie singing lyrics such as "Hey lil mama, ooh you're a stunner, Hot little figure, yes you a winner" Ok....enough said.
Syesha - Well, she gave it her best I guess. The first song was alright. The second song, all I can say is when she said she was going to work a chair into "Fever" I got a little nervous. But in the end, I just got the feeling she was auditioning for whatever producers are watching from Broadway......Syesha's looking for a job......she will be available after tomorrow night.
Sexy David Cook - That is now his new name! Well I may be biased and probably a bit incoherent as I try to write down my feelings regarding this incredibly hot, sexy man but I will give it a try. " The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" - Oh my, I actually lost all control of my actions and spilled my wine all over the couch after that performance.......there are no words to describe the hotness...."Dare You to Move".....I also loved but I had to agree with Paula that I felt it should have gone longer and I wanted more......but then again I always want more of David Cook..."I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" - I absolutely loved! I am telling you the man has a way of looking into the camera that can cause you to fall out of your chair and spill more wine on the rug.....Note to self.....buy white wine for the finals.....it is easier to clean.

Good advice, buying white wine for the finals. I am on it!

great cherry poppin blog, Scarlett!
Vodka tonic is clear, BTW.
Bitten 05/14/08
Yeah, us seasoned vets like to mix it up -- the Goose & tonic, or a cool, crisp pinot grigio -- and yes, all stain-free. Last night was Ecco Domani all the way.
Scarlett, Well Done, Gurl!!!

vodka has fewer calories, too--and it mixes well w/ so many, many things.
Great job, Miss Scarlett (in the library with the candlestick).

We've been drinking Yellow Tail Sparkling White Wine. Really good stuff indeed. It mixes good with Idol and the Tudors(if your looking for something sexy that's not David Cook. I know, perish the thought!). Other then that hand me a whiskey sour and hand DC the title. Even my husband who is mostly a casual viewer looked up after "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" and said "There is your American Idol".

Yellow Tail -- isn't that Australian? I think Aussie wines are generally high quality and a great value. A Jacob's Creek fan myself.

Thanks for all the great drink ideas ladies!.....I think maybe I will start a blog next week before the show to discuss appropriate drink options........who's with me?

I'm currently working my way through a bottle of Naked Grape Chardonnay ( a Christmas gift- I normally do not like Chardonnays). And my back up is a Barefoot Pinot Grigio.
I like white better than red. Red is too grapey and I actually hate grapes.

I'm with you! Champagne (the real kind) for next week!
JWG 05/14/08
You know, that's a darn good idea. Champagne all around! MMMMhmmm, although it makes me very giggly--hope ya'll be alright w/ that. BTW, goes really well with popcorn--good salted popcorn and champagne. Does a body good.
palais 05/14/08
Now I'm hungry.
Rose Tyler 05/14/08
Yes Bitten dearest Yellow Tail is Australian. It is both high quality and reasonably priced. I'm afraid I might substitute that for Champagne. I'm not a huge fan.
Scarlett 05/14/08
JWG - I am all about the popcorn with the Champagne....I may add this to the list of necessities for next week. Our boy is going to the finals.....time to celebrate!!!
Rose Tyler 05/14/08
One more week. It's gone by pretty quickly hasn't it? I just hope they let him mess with whatever "this is my cliche" song he get saddled with.
palais 05/15/08
Please God, let him mess with the song. And with me.
Sorry. Moment of extreme selfishness.
DCismyBF 05/17/08
Sorry Cougs, I don't do white. It's gotta be a big bold Red... Cab, Bordeaux... rich, smooth, full-bodied, robust... sound familiar?? I guess I'll just have to stock up on upholstery and carpet cleaner. Unless it's still hot outside... then it'll be a margarita. No stain... just sticky.
JWG 05/17/08
Red is good. Sexhawtonastick looked really good in his red t-shirt couple weeks back. Me, if it's red I'm drinking, it's either a Syrah or a Zin, big and bold. oh yeah.
But, hey--doesn't DC have a drink named after him from his <grunt> "baarrtender" -days? mebbe we should research and drink one of those?
palais 05/17/08
I know that the Cookie has Jagr in it... I forget what else...
Scarlett 05/17/08
That is right, I forgot about the Cookie drink....I will do some research!
