And since little Archi doesn't qualify as one (He's a wee teen!), it means let David Cook win! Oh man, AI is making me very mean! Sorry all you Arch Angels! I wish Little Archi well, but I'd like it if the Talented Mr. Cook won! Idol is getting over! OMG! Can't Believe it... I'm in depression already! But Today's THE day and all you fellow Idol-holics, watch and vote!
There are a lot (LOT) of things I shall miss abt this Idol season and our Top 12 contestants in particular...
Here are some things I'll shall and those err.... I shall not miss... about our contestants......
Let's start from the very Top shall we?
David Cook - The Rocker - His voice, his rocker vibe, his hair! It beats me how people can still think he's smug... Yes, people, at one time, he might have appeared so, but he's more than redeemed himself! One has to just see the behind-the-scenes videos on the Idol website to see glimpses of the real David Cook there and you can see that he's so down to earth and genuine! So people, give the guy a break and vote for him! He's amazing! Fav. performances: Hello - most watched idol performance on You Tube! Absolutely breathtaking version of the Lionel Richie classic... And Billie Jean - yeah, it was Chris Cornell's, but David absolutely rocked this song! Awesome!
Little Archi - The Puppy - Although I'm not really pro-Archi, I still think the Imp's got a charm that's totally disarming... And you have to hand it to him for dealing with all that Idol pressure, expectations and adulation and consistently (almost) performing well! And yes, his squinty-eyed grin! I shall miss that! Fav. performances: Bryan Adam's 'Heaven' - one of my all-time fav song. Was most relieved that Little Archie didn't butcher it! Also liked 'The long and Winding road', 'Angels', 'And So It Goes'...
Syesha - The Diva - Not one of my favs... but hats off to her for her surprising Idol longevity... To think that when Top 12 started, everyone was predicting that she had but a week or two to survive in the competition... Fav. performances: 'One Rock n' Roll too Many', 'Yesterday'.
Jason - The Dreadhead - Probably my *favorite* contestant in Idol with Michael Johns - I wasn't so crazy about Jason when the season began, but he really grew on me and now I'm a big fan! Oh those lovely hazel eyes! They are hazel aren't they? And his wide grin! Funniest Jason moment I think -- Ryan asking the contestants what was most challenging thing this season and Jason saying "the brain being dead!" That was capital! Fav. performances: : 'Hallelujah' - l.o.v.e.d it! Absolutely beautiful performance! Also loved 'Daydream', 'Memory', 'Forever in Blue Jeans' etc etc... Man, I'm gonna miss those sparkling hazel eyes...sigh...!
Brooke - The Blonde: Nanny Diaries - Her incessant howling pre/post and during the episode when the Top 12 was declared was mighty **** off, but Brooke really endeared herself to me as the competition went on... I'll miss her banter with the judges, her perpetual "It's Okay" and how she'd purse both her lips together tightly as if to restrain herself from butting in to whatever anyone said! Fav. performances: 'Love is a Battlefield' is one of my Season 7 favs! Also liked 'Let It Be', 'I am I Said'...
Carly - The Tattooed Bartender - One of the most misunderstood contestants of this season I thought... For the longest time people held it against her that she had almost released an album before Idol and the buzz that was surrounding her when the Top 24 started never quite worked in her favour... But still I was a big fan! Loved her songs and loved her "Simon Loves Me (this Week)" T-shirt! Fav. performances: 'Come Together, 'Jesus, Christ Superstar, 'Total Eclipse of the Heart'...
Kristy Lee Cook - The Country Singer and Wanna-be Pop star - She was ...hmmm...err... who was I writing about again...?
Michael Johns - The Drool Meister - Besides being yummy-licious delicious, the Australian crooner was so uncannily similar in his voice and style to the legendary fellow Australian late Michael Hutchence, that he was often likened to him... Gave some of the most memorable songs in Idol history - Fav. performances: 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'Don't you forget about me', 'It's all wrong, but it's alright' etc... Don't worry, Mike! We ain't forgetting ya!
Ramiele Malubay - Miss Crinklenose - to steal Michael Slezak's nickname for her... The petite lass from Philippines would have had a lot going for her if she had gradually not sunk down to using her cuteness as her vote-garnering tactic... there's only so much cloying cuteness one can handle!
Chikezie - The One-Hit Wonder - Hands down it was his 'She's a Woman' that remains his best and one of the most memorable performances of this Season! What was this guy waiting for? By the time he came out of his shell to belt out that Beatles's classic, it was a wee bit too late to nurture a fan following and he went not two weeks later...
Amanda Overmeyer - The Biker Nurse - I actually started appreciating Amanda Overmeyer after she was out of Idol! She seemed the most rooted and realistic out of all the Idols! And I can never forget what she said when Simon reminded her "Your tickets are not on sale yet!" She said, "Hey, even if I need to sell out in a local bar in Lafayette... that's all I'm saying!" She was brash and brazen and never had a million in a million chance of winning Idol, but she was different...
David Hernandez - David Who? - the 3rd David voted of rather prematurely at Top12. Methinks he deserved several weeks more in the competition - definitely more than KLC or Ramiele or Amanda for that matter. I wouldn't have thought that the fact that he was a former stripper would be taken so seriously so as to hamper his chances of progressing in the competition... But I dunno... they perhaps did... David H had a good voice and he gave some amazing performances - 'Papa was a Rolling Stone' being one of them...
Those were my favs! Looking forward to seeing them all albeit for one last time... Man, I need therapy to deal with these Idol blues...!
