How To Deal With Post-Idol Depression

Posted 3 months ago, 434 Views, 6 Comments

As the much anticipated David vs. David finale is looming closer I can't help but feel at loose ends.  I know that a lot of you may be feeling the same way so I've come up with ways to fill the void once the show ends.

1.)  Youtube every post finale interview with the American Idol (David Cook, hopefully!!) and the rest of the finalists

2.) Buy tickets for one of the idol concerts this summer- or if you are really loaded, follow the idols to every city on the tour and earn your spot as their "official groupie"

3.)  Get addicted to another TV show you've been meaning to watch- get the whole season on DVD and soon Idol  will be a faint memory...that is until David Cook's album is released :-p

4.) Hit the treadmill and burn off all the cellulite you've developed thanks to sitting around watching Idol or blogging about it

5.)Put together a montage of the contestant of your choice

6.)  Look up the internet for instructions on how to dread your hair or learn the Ukulele  (Jason fans, holler!!)

7) Carly fans out there could get tattoos

 8) Michael Johns fans could visit his hometown in Australia

9) David Cook fans could write steamy fanfiction...mmmmm

10) Archubaby fans could write songs about rainbows or wishing upon stars  or dreaming of a Mormon-filled universe. They could also intersperse their conversations with the words "gosh"  and "dang it"

I just read something in another blog about women suffering from PDCD (post David Cook depression). I'm afraid I'm in the same boat. I have him on Google alert. Steamy fanfiction...not a bad idea, thanks. :)

I just spent WAY too much money on two floor seats for Idol in Houston. I will have to hide this fact from my DH! I am taking my daughter (age 15, also likes DC). We will get back home really late the night before her school starts. What a bad mommy! ;D

I justify him being on my Google Alerts because I write an Canadian Idol blog, and he is part of the extended Idol family.
I don't want a cure.

OK, i've followed #1 repeatedly....it ain't helping.

i did #2 although i'm not loaded so i could only get 2 tixs in my area. i'm not sure who's going with me (i may need the second seat for my drool.)

i'm trying to do #3 with SYTYCD, but so far i'm only forcing myself to watch. it's like methadone--only takes the edge off.

#4 are you kidding me?? I have a gorgeous bode befitting a cougar.

if i attempt #5 my addiction will no longer be explainable. my somewhat suspicious SO will erase my iPod and conveniently stop paying for cable Internet. i can't go cold turkey at this point.

#6-#8 & #10 don't apply.

#9--the DEN supply me with the STEAMYIST fanfiction--can't top bitten and the girls.

I'M STILL FRAKKIN ADDICTED

I love David Cook. His voice and every time I hear his songs, it makes me shiver. I'm one of his loyal fans.

It has been a month and I"m still connected to my laptop and every blog/forum/site that I can manage to find. I'm really starting to freak now that all the media is over and the tour is starting. I'll have Tuesday the 24th on the View, then nothing until Aug 12th. That's a 51 day detox. I'm going to go insane!!!!!
