I'm late with with my AI blogpost as usual... But since this is gonna the last one for this season, I'll make this short and well...short! Well, obviously all of us who wanted David Cook to win and feared that he might not after all the pro-Archuleta Top 2 performance night scenario, felt vindicated! When I read that DC had won, I couldn't believe it! It was almost too good to be true... I did feel a little and very uncharacteristically bad for Little Archi though... He's a genuinely good kid and I wish him well! I guess up until the Finale, no one had imagined that DC's fanbase was so vast...

Also seeming vindicated were all the rest of the Top 12! They looked so elated like, "Yes! Our guy won!" I can understand Michael Johns and Carly feeling great about the outcome because they were best budds with Cook, but it seemed like rest of the Top 10 also really wanted Cook to win... Archuleta had been declared a front runner from Hollywood Week onwards. Everyone else in comparison to him seemed an under dog and it seemed like Season 7 was the toughest competition for the Number 2 spot. Somewhere Little Archi's steady progression in the competition, owing more to his cuteness than his talent must have bothered everyone. So David Cook winning this must have been a personal victory of sorts for the others... Remember Simon's remark after Cook's Billie Jean? He said something like "If this competition is more about talent than popularity [hinting at Little Archi], you could actually end up winning this thing!" So while I love Little Archi and wish him best, it's David Cook's moment now and as someone who's wanted him to win since long, I couldn't be happier about the outcome!

SO here's raising a toast to David Cook and till Season 8, see y'all! It's been great reading all the wonderful Idol blog  posts! And it's been wonderful being serenaded by our Top 12 every week... I shall miss the Cooks, the Jasons (Hallelujah To you Jason!), the Brookes, the Little Archi's, the Michaels and the Carlys and on really dreary days, I shall the Ramieles and KLC's too! Oh man, don't wanna see such a day!
