Hollywood Week Musings

Posted 4 months ago, 481 Views, 0 Comments

I was very excited to have the regular audition weeks behind us with the 164 contestants who made it to the second round of the famed Hollywood Week.

1. Where were the "group" performances? An Idol staple -  totally gone.

 2. This whole second chance thing seemed great for a real world competition, but on a reality show it seemed a little too "we're covering our bases." Part of the joy of Idol is the pacing and last night's changes seemed to slow things down a little bit for me.

3. I enjoy Ferras. I loved his cute little rocker face on Idolatry, but I'm not hooked on his Idol send-off "Hollywood is not America." We'll see.

 4. Although my friend Mike (and I'm sur emany others) don't agree, I enjoy the contrived reality show staple of tonight's episode where the 50 finalists have to take the elevator ride up, the long walk down to the lonely seat and the uncomfortable "sit" in front of the judges while they learn their fate.

How is Hollywood Week going for you? Cold and rainy?
