Thinking back to previous AI seasons, the first week of audience voting might always be a little disappointing. Perhaps because the last thing we have to remember are the weeks and weeks of last year's finalists doing so well. Sure, it might be that.
But it's probably the NERVES. I don't recall ever seeing a more nervous looking bunch of boys AND girls. They need to pull it together. I could get up there, look nervous and sing just ok. I want to see something awesome - from more than just three boys and three or four girls.
I have to say, I am so glad Idol is back but it needs to get better.
Oh, 60's week was a b-a-d idea this early (if ever).

I agree totally. I understand that some of the girls were sick (the boys didn't/couldn't use that excuse), but that didn't stop front-runner Carly Smithton from giving me chills. Simon is right in saying that the boys and girls are equally matched in having (at the time) 3 really good ones each - contestants who just "have it" and dog-gonnit you can just tell that htey are stars. I am stoked to see next weeks theme and perfomances!
