Holy crap that's a big stage! I'd be a tad nervous if I was a contestant.
American Idol is the most annoying show when it comes to dragging things out. Do we really need two hours for 12 contestants?! Only three people per half hour...really? I hate filler!
I'm not sure how I feel about this "opening" of The Beatles catalog. There's over 100 songs to choose from, but the producers narrowed it down to 25. Lame.
Syesha "Gotta Get You Into My Life": Oh, not liking the hair-do. Did not start off great, but got better in the middle and finished it off well. I expected better from Syesha, though.
Chikezie "She's a Woman": I just love this kid. Everyone dissed him left and right in the beginning, but I knew he could sing. And tonight, he showed that he can perform as well. I was smiling the whole way through. Awesome.
Ramiele "In My Life": Hmm...that was pretty boring to me and not memorable in any way, which could be trouble for her. Simon's right. The standing on the stairs looking up was horrible. I know she can do better, so let's hope it's not the end for Ramiele.
Jason "If I Fell": We're back to the guitar. Wardrobe department: can you please dress him differently. I liked last week's a lot more, but this was OK. Simon, shut up about the song choices! We all know they get next to nothing to pick from. Anyway, I like Jason's eyes; they sparkle.
Carly "Come Together": She's gonna have her own room not too long from now, I'm guessing. Work that stage, girl! She's so good. She's got everything going for her: talent, stage presence, personality, vocals up the wazoo and an accent ;) Oh snap! Simon just compared her performance to my favorite "Idol" ever...Miss Kelly Clarkson. Was this Natural Woman week for her?
David C. "Eleanor Rigby": Still a fan. Started off a bit iffy for me, but loved it from midway on. He's my favorite guy.
Brooke "Let It Be": I don't even need to hear it; I know I'll love it. I think Jason and Brooke can do well on their own, but they don't really have radio-friendly voices which is why neither will win this thing. Both are incredibly talented, though. I like them more than the eventual winner (Archie). Cool, calm, collected as always. Girl sings from the heart.
David H. "I Saw Her Standing There": I think he could've done better with that, which sucks because he has a nice voice. I don't think it was as bad as the judges thought, though.
Amanda "You Can't Do That": I like this girl, but she would've done better on Rock Star. Speaking of, what ever happened to that show? I LOVED it! I miss Jordis, Storm and Toby. I have a feeling hardcore Beatles fans will say they hated that rendition, but I liked it (I'm not a hardcore Beatles fan). I hate when the judges get into arguments during the critiques. I feel so bad for the contestants...OMG, was that Taye Diggs in the audience?! Sorry, I got distracted.
Michael "Across the Universe": Aww, he had a cabbage patch kid. I used to have so many of those things. I really wish he didn't do the Eddie Vedder "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" at the end of sentences. Bugs the crap out of me. How many times does Randy say, "So, I don't know if it was your best performance"? Is that part of the drinking game? Is anyone reading this old enough to legally be partaking in a drinking game? LOL Simon doesn't remember Carly's name...are you kidding me?! Anyway, Simon was right. Michael still hasn't shown us what he's capable of. I'm waiting, Mr. Johns.
Kristy "Eight Days a Week": Well, you can't take a risk just to take a risk. You have to execute it and sweetheart, that was horrendous. It was nice knowing you Miss Oregon. I think your horses need to be fed. Well if Paula says it sucked, you know you're frakked. Simon swiped my adjective!
Archie "We Can Work It Out": Oh, what is this? The pimp spot, yet again? Are they trying to break this kid? If you're going to forget the words, don't let us notice! Oh man, twice! I think his nerves got to him and he forgot nearly the entire song. That was really bad. Not the way to close the show. I think it goes without saying...he did not work it out ;)
