Slingbox: thoughts?

I had previously heard of the Slingbox but never understood what the device did -- now I know and am very intrigued by the idea of your TV/DVR/DVD player being accessible anywhere and everywhere.

For those of you not in-the-know, the Slingbox hooks up to your Cable box/TV and also to your home's network (ethernet/router). There's corresponding software you can put on your laptop/computer, and it allows you to watch your TV, your DVR, your DVDs from literally anywhere you'd like (work, vacation -- so long as you have access to the internet, you have access to your stuff). Sound awesome? Yeah, it does to me, too.

For those of you who've had a little more hands-on experience with a Slingbox, is it really as simple as it appears? What's the software like? How is the sound and picture quality? Does the end result justify the price tag (~$200)?

It's awesome! I hooked one up to my parents' TV, and now log in on my computer to catch my favorite sports teams which are blacked out where I live now, watch East coast feeds earlier than I get them on reality shows, and other things that otherwise might be on delay in my time zone.

The picture & sound quality are pretty good, but it depends on your internet connections and if you are watching during peak times. Both they and myself have high speed connections and it has worked out well for me so far. the software is super easy to install and use.
