I just got my new EW in the mail and was appalled by the cover. While I loved the duo of Poehler & Meyers in Blades of Glory- (that was them, right?), I could not believe that SNL was being hailed as "TV's funniest & Most Influential Political Player". REALLY? I haven't watched SNL since the 1990s. Sure, Hillary Clinton referenced SNL during a debate & CNN picked up on it but overall, Jon Stewart's Daily Show & Stephen Colbert's Colbert Report dominate. They are witty and more urbane, wacky and subversive, fun and intelligent (even Colbert sometimes).
What's with the huge SNL cover? Do they really get huge ratings. Are people really still watching this show on a regular basis?
