Let the Dancing Begin Part II

So I will start by saying that my prediciton yesterday was on point. The ladies were way better than the men.  The men should be shaking in their sequins after last night.

First up was Shannon and Derek. I have to be up front here and say that before they even start I am hoping they are gonna be great. Not because of Shannon but because I think Derek is awesome. I wonder if it is a problem when the dancers start becoming more famous that the "stars". Thank goodness Shannon can move a little better than the "pretty" girls that Derek said always go first. She has the legs that last forever and is already being compared to Stacy, which of course is  a good thing.  Let's hope she can live up to it for Derek's sake.

Next was Monica and Jonathan. I thought Monica summed it up rather nicely when she said she wanted this to be her prom. She looked like an akward teenager at a prom...very fitting. The dance did not fit her personality at all (shame on you Jonathan), and she never really got the moves. Apparently, being awesome at tennis does not help in being graceful on the dance floor.  Felt bad for her, but kudos for trying. I am, however, sorta scared to see her try her luck at latin.

Now we had Gute the female version Marissa with her partner Tony. She is way overexcitable and you would think with all that energy the dance would have been fantastic. I was very dissappointed.  Boooo to Tony for a horribly choreographed dance that did not show off his partner in any way. Also, the music was sort of offensive to me and even a few of my friends wrote to me about it. The first bigger girl on the show and the song has to be about ****. Whatever. If I was Marissa I would have refused that song. And now we must discuss Tony's outfit. I don't know what that was but I could barely pay attention to the dance with those flashy pants, and see through "shirt". Let's hope they are better next time, it should be interesting to see Marissa try to contain her excitment in a ballroom dance.

Next were Priscilla and Louis. The surprise of the evening. I was not expecting Priscilla to be able to move so "grace"fully. You can tell that Louis is an awesome choreographer. They should be good at all the ballroom stuff....still wondering about the latin.

The couple I was looking forward to the most Kristi and Mark, did not disappoint. They tried to make it sound like Kristi had a hard time with the foot movements, but judging from the dance she picked them up pretty quickly. As a Kristi fan from way back I would like to see her do really well, and as Mark got robbed last year this would be a nice comeback for him.  Let's hope Kristi can shake her hips next week for her latin number.

And last but certainly not least were Marlee and Fabian. I know who Marlee is but never really saw her on anything, and I must say I really enjoy her personality. Fabian put together a real nice dance for them and I was impressed by how good it was. I can't imagine trying to dance when you can't hear the beat (see Adam Corolla). I am sure they will be around for awhile.

And that was all folks. I believe that Monica will go home next week if she doesn't pull off a spectacular latin dance. As for the others it is anyone's game. En garde boys, the girls are in it to win this year. Let's hope one of them can pull it off.
