LOST Withdrawal!!

It's an epidemic that is affecting sound-minded people all across the country: Lost Withdrawal!  The writer's strike has left us Losties craving to know the next plot twist, even after offering up the best episode they could to ease our hiatus pains (Meet Kevin Johnson...outstanding!).  I've been off for, let's see...almost two weeks!  Holy crap!  Quick, some Lost-related thoughts!

1) John Locke will come out on top.  He has been compared to Colonel Kurtz at times, but everything he does he does for a reason, even killing Naomi (face it: you didn't like her, either).  He doesn't want to go back to his real world: as a cripple with some of his father's "friends" chasing him.  Would you go back?  I think he is doing the right thing by staying, at least for himself.  That's why he's not the one in the coffin (I think): it's Sawyer, and that's why no one else was there with Jack.  One thing I don't understand is his letting Ben go.  He will be the death of them all!!  Sayid should have killed him back in season 2.  Dang...

2) I doubt Michael will survive to the end of the season.  At the finale, he'll probably blow up the boat, just after saying "I love you, Walt."  to himself.  Besides, there are two other seasons to go.

3) I'm still convinced Penny is in on this with her father.  I don't care what happened at the end of "The Constant."  I don't trust her or anyone with the last name Widmore (on the show, I mean).

4) Des is probably going to die, too.  Just a thought.

5) Oh, I just figured out that the numbers, 4 8 15 16 23 42, add to equal 108!  Was that a big secret or something?  Or did everyone already know that, and I'm just the last to know?  If they put, like, 9 9 99 99 99 99, would they have had, like, thousands of minutes before the world ended?  I don't know...

6) Ben will kill Alex.  Maybe.  The man's unpredictable!

7) The rescuers are definitely not to be trusted, but if I had one shot and could either kill Widmore or Ben, I'd kill Ben in an instant.

8) RobGrizzly's award thing was an awesome idea.  Props/kudos to you, man!

9) J.J. Abrams is the best TV show creator ever.  It's not just fantasy goose crap, but rather an unrelentingly addictive quasi-sci-fi show with real characters that we care about on a deep, personal level and real human situations that we face every day.  Enough with the whole Buffy/Angel/whatever thing.  Vampires are cliched  Lost is king!!

10) Um...maybe Smoky will come back in the ghost of Mr. Eko.  Can we really be sure???

Ahhhh...that feels much better.  I'm counting the days to April 24th (22 to go!!), and I hope you all will be watching closely.

I too am suffering from a serious case of Lost withdrawal, and as such will address your points as you made them.

1) If Locke comes out on top, why does Hurley apologize to Jack for going with him? I'm one of the many who call him Kurtz, and agree that he won't leave and that killing Naomi was awesome, but he has been wrong so many times, I can't believe he could be right. Also, I think Michael's in the coffin, and am glad Ben's alive (he's one of the good guys!)

2) Maintaining my belief that he's in the coffin, I disagree. Plus I don't think the freighter's gonna blow.

3) Nooooo! Penny is good, only her father is pure evil! And she and Des will live happily ever after, la la la

4) Also, nooooo! Well, and in keeping with my theory that Desmond is Odysseus, I believe he'll make it home to his Penelope, if only after a wicked long journey.

5) Yeah, we knew a few years ago. Don't feel bad, I hate math too.

6) If he felt like he had to, but it seems unlikely.

7) I'd kill Widmore myself. If Sayid's working for Ben, he might not be as bad as I like to think, plus Widmore was mean to Desmond and that is so not cool.

8) Indeed. You go, RobGrizzly!

9) HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!! Not only am I sick to death of hearing about Buffy (vampire stuff is so gross anyway), but I just plain worship Abrams. Are you an Alias fan too? Because (as I say to pretty much everyone) you seriously should be.

10) If only. I want some more smokey action, and by action, I mean explanation.

A few rebuttals:
1) Don't be stuck on such a happy ending for Pen and Des...I just get the feeling that something's bound to go wrong....you never know. She may be evil: ha ha ha!

2) I do hate math, seriously.

3) Vamp stuff is really gross and cliched, yeah. Too bad I missed Alias, though. I may just have to get myself a season or two.

4) Locke is right, Ben is bad. Hurley may have regretted going with John because he wanted to stay, and the rest got to get off of the island somehow. I may just be being bold, but Locke is going to end up on top by the end. Why does Jack want to go back?

Thanks a lot for your input. It's nice to release some of this excess Lost in my system. Thanks!

1) Locke is nutz. I love the guy, but he's awfully sketchy. And he killed hot hot Naomi. Bad John. Baaad.

2) Not sure what will happen with Michael. His backsotries are among my favorites, but I too, doubt his staying power on the show.

3) I hope not. Big powerful Widmore will be bested not by Ben, Locke, or Desmond, but by Penny herself. She may be his one weak spot.

4) I've got this funny feeling like Des will die too. His love story has become so epic, that it has to end in tragedy...

5) We'll still see the numbers from time to time, but they've lost their signifigance at this point.

6) Nah. Alex will be the death of Ben. Like Widmore, father's have weakspots for their daughters.

7) I'm not a fan of the freighter folk at all. Faraday is intriguing, but that's about it. I wouldn't trust em as far as I could throw em.

8) Thank you, good sir. Gotta keep myself busy! More to come each week till Lost returns..

9) Becareful with the Joss Whedon stuff! They are both awesome in their own ways.

10) I would love to see Eko again! I'm not convinced they have fully explained the monster- (Locke said he saw a bright light when he encountered it.)

1) I don't think Sawyer could be in the coffin because he never got off the island. I am gonna have to agree with the Michael in the coffin theories. I like Lockes character, but I can't decide if it would be a more fitting end for him to succeed or fail in his endeavors. Leaning more towards the failure side presently.
2) Agree with the fact that Michael won't survive. They did say in an interview that we would find out who was in the coffin before the season ended, this helps with the theory of it being Michael.
3) I am convinced that the father angle is going to be played with Alex and Pen as well as our regular Losties (jack, locke, walt). I believe that both of them will eventually be their father's downfall. Really hope Pen does is not bad.
4) "Des is probably going to die, too." I can totally see this happening but refuse to abandon the fairy tale that is Pen and Des 4 ever.
5) the numbers have lost their relevance, which is sad considering how much time we spent obsessing over them.
6) Alex will "kill" Ben. Maybe not herself but she will be the reason.
7) I think I lean more towards Widmore being more evil. But I also don't believe that Ben is good.
8) The awards are great...keep em coming!
9) Love JJ and Joss, you will never get me to choose.
10) We do need to see more smokey. He has yet to make an appearance this year.

1) Wouldn't it be great to see Locke standing tall on top of a tall hill all alone, looking out over the island on the series finale? I think that would be the most fitting end for John Locke: a life on the island
2) Alex is too weak to kill Ben
3) I want the numbers explained!!
Thanks, all, for your medicinal input!!
