After receiving a  not-so-effusive comment from Simon after her rendition of 'Coat of many Colors', Kristy Lee Cook said something strange-bordering-on-seductive to Simon like "Thank you Simon, love you!" and even blew a kiss at him and laughed. Even Ryan was embarrassed... Besides being TOTALLY uncalled for, I was like, "What is she trying to do?"  Some weeks before she told Simon "You know I can blow your socks away..." AND then, she comes in for the results show with some note on which it's written "Kristy's seat" Oh my god! Even Ryan had an awkward pause because that was just so juvenile! Just wondering but did she think that by doing that we'd all go "awww! you poor poor thing" and start showering her with oodles of votes-love? I dunno... I was shocked and even a little disappointed that she could act so... desperate... Her behaviour these past many weeks just reeks of desperation and how! I find her attempts at winning brownie points from Simon, her air kisses and her Bottom 3 seat tags, all just too corny, too juvenile and just too irritating... Michael Slezak is so right when he writes that it's almost as if she can't believe that she isn't liked and isn't considered a front-runner... I am sorry but she really really cannot hold a candle up to Carly, Syesha and Brooke and all the guys... So it's not like she's a good singer and everyone's dissing her... she should know that by now...

A quick word about the Dolly Parton night... while a lot has been written about the performances of all the contestants, I agree with many when they didn't quite take to Brooke's version of 'Jolene'. While getting in a violin was beautiful, she pretty much ruined that most-beautiful of all Dolly's songs...  'Jolene' is a very deceptively simple song and apart from failing to bequeath it with the required emotion, that song really revealed Brooke's vocal limitations... and besides, as many have said, perhaps it just didn't go with her personality. Heck, some woman might sing 'Jolene' to Brooke: "Your beauty is beyond compare / With flaming locks of blond hair
With ivory skin and eyes of emerald green..." Btw, Simon has officially given the honour of Idol buskers to 2 contestants  - Jason and Brooke - and surprise surprise, they both share the same folky vibe... Oh well! See y'all next week!
