The biggest nerd-out of my life

In case anyone cared/was wondering why I've been relatively MIA in the past week and a half, the answer is quite simple: I've discovered Battlestar Galactica. Yeah, I'm a little late jumping on the bandwagon, but better late than never, right? I'm about halfway through season 3 at this point (all hail borrowing friends' DVDs), and am fairly well convinced that this show is as close to perfection as TV can actually get. That includes my still hands down favorite show, Alias, which I love with all its flaws. But my mind virtually exploded last night watching the episode "Hero", as I first yelled "Those are Dixon's eyebrows!". "That's Dixon's voice, I swear!" and finally "F*** yeah, Dixon's on Battlestar! He's gonna f*** people up! This is gonna be f***ing sweet!" (yeah, I think my boyfriend was a little annoyed by the screaming, which is fair). How did I not know that Carl Lumbly had guest starred on BSG? Two of my TV loves coming together as one--nothing beats that (as cool as seeing Will Arnett on 30 Rock was, it didn't hold a candle to my excitement over this). I like to see my Alias alums in post-Alias roles, so it was very satisfying for me to watch the person I will always refer to as Dixon beating the crap out of people, like he always does. So thank you, Ronald D. Moore. You have made this nerdy fangirl's dreams come true. And I'll write more coherent thoughts on BSG once I'm completely caught up!

I appreciate your willingness to write about past episodes as well as current ones. I feel the same way--if I can watch it today, well then it's current.
