For a few years now, I've considered Farscape to be one of my favorite TV shows. It's a great sci-fi show with fantastic characters and great story arcs. Truth is, I haven't actually seen all the episodes, but that's about to change.

So I always knew Farscape existed, but I didn't have access to the Sci-fi channel. Thankfully, I went off to college, and like magic, Sci-fi was finally ready for my viewing pleasures in the middle of nowheresville, IL. I started catching reruns of episodes and totally got hooked. I watched the mini-series and everything. But then the mini-series was over and Sci-fi decided it was a good time to take away my new discovery. From then on, I caught various episodes in sydication and online. Then I was ready to buy the series.

*Tapa, tapa, tapa www.amazon.com tapa, tapa, tapa* "Over 100 dollars!! For one season!!" No. Just no. I refused.

For awhile now I refused to shell out hundreds of dollars for this show. It's great, but I need to eat. It was a no go on the season sets, but then the Starburts editions came out  (1 season, 3 starburst editions). I was almost ready to buy them. At around 20 bucks, that wasn't bad. But anger settled back in. Why can't I just have one season, in one set, that doesn't cost a lot. I waited too long and now you can't even get the first Starburst edition for a reasonable price. In reviews, people have even said that the 2-sided disc versions skip or freeze sometimes. Apparently the distributor fixed that by providing 4 separate discs, but if you buy from a random seller, sometimes they don't specify which one they're selling. What the frell!?!?!

Well problem solved. I'm buying the seasons on iTunes. One season, one flat rate of 39.99. I guess my boyfriend downloaded them from a torrent site, but I like owning good quality copies. Is that soooo much to ask for???

I'm on season 2 right now and loving it. So let me know what you think. What do you love about the show? Did you shell out a lot of money for the DVDs? Find any reasonable deals anywhere? Anyone download them from iTunes like me?

P.S. I bought the mini-series at Blockbuster for 5 bucks. Sweet deal.
