So I did get my wish - neither Jason nor the Davids are out but Carly? Didn't you know, Nigel Lithgoe and company that I didn't want Carly out? Didn't you read my previous blogpost?! Such gross insubordination will not be treated kindly! Michael was bad enough but Carly?!
I know she was never gonna win this competition anyway. But I hoped she'd stick around till at least Top 4... Well, the only consolation is that she left with a bang! She left giving a mind blowing performance!
Brooke is slowly starting to grate on my nerves... I never knew sympathy votes could help anyone as much as they did Brooke! Man, not even in the Bottom 3/2. Really? My Brooke-graph has seen major ups and downs. Remember the episode in which the Top 24 were announced and Ms. White couldn't stop howling? I didn't know much about her then but her incessant sobbing was a total put-off. I was like, "Woman, what in the name of tragedy is bothering you?" or perhaps, they were tears of happiness... who knows? Either ways, totally off-putting... But after "Love is a Battlefield" Brooke really redeemed herself in my eyes. I was even ready to overlook her disastrous take on 'Jolene'. I think what's been happening now is that besides her lackluster performances, it's her emotional breakdowns on stage that have been really irritating... Michael Slezak very rightly compared her to Ramiele. Ramiele used to be the one with the perpetual "aw-pooh-me" pout and all... But I give Brooke some concession... she's got a lovely voice and she did seem to feel genuinely bad about sailing so easily through to the next round...
I guess I'm just disgruntled about Carly's exit. She was really growing on me. But the fact that she took her elimination as well as she did shows that somewhere she knew it was going to happen. I guess after Michael Johns's shocking elimination, she must have - especially since she and Michael were such good buddies - mentally prepared herself to embrace elimination. But I really felt for her... Like Michael Johns, Carly had also struggled a lot to become a singer and her emotional breakdown after receiving the yellow ticket to Hollywood was really sad... Why did they show it anyway? Did they want her start bawling then and there again? It's not really something you want to be reminded of when you're as it is feeling down...
Anyway, Go Carly! Go! Here's hoping we don't have to wait for too long to buy your album!
