Who wouldn't want to abandon their boring day job and be faced with a life of danger, mystery, love, principle, relaxation, and survival? The reason many of us watch, I think, is to escape to a new world isolated in the middle of the Pacific: a magical place, not unlike those grand Disney animations you watched as a child. Mysteries are discovered each day, problems arise and are solved, relationships are built, and life simplifies. For many people, this may be a more fulfilling, exciting way of life than their own. Of course, there is no island, no smoke monster, no hatch, no hidden village, no Looking Glass; none of that exists, but it is a lovely weekly escape into a beautiful place for millions around the nation. It's something we can all follow and be a part of. And I don't see anything wrong with that.

I have more of a question than a comment. My room-mate and I make Lost a weekly event w/dinner, etc. He insists that in the intro, and at the end of the program, when they show the island there is something weird about the reflection in the water. I have tried hard to look, but all I see is the reflection of the word "Lost". Am I blind? Is he seeing things? Anybody else out there that sees something weird??
