Lost: Something Nice Back Home

I would just like to point out that I have finally watched enough medical dramas to diagnose an appendicitis.  After doing my little "I was right" happy dance, I could proceed to watch this week's episode.

We begin with Jack, he is sick and Juliet figures out why before him.  Food poisoning, silly Jack, do you need to do your internist rotation again?  Kate is still giving him the watery, "I love you eyes", but this is only to set up the flash forwards yet to come.  Juliet confronts her and has to use her famed line "or he will die."  I would like a count on how many times her character utters that phrase.

In the jungle, Sawyer leads Claire, Aaron and Miles back toward the beach.  But something just isn't right with Claire, 'cause Miles is getting some funky vibes from her.  Or wait...is it someone else?  Miles then conjures the names Russo and Carl, then voila, there they are half buried beneath their feet.  That is one question answered Danielle, dead, check.

Jack needs surgery, but can't be moved to the surgical wing of strange island, so Juliet sends Sun, Jin, Daniel and Charlotte to fetch the supplies for surgery al fresca.  Jin cracks a joke in Korean and Charlotte smiles.  She understands them.  I didn't know they taught Korean as a second language in snobby British boarding schools.

Flash forwards abound, and we see Kate and Jack playing house with little Aaron.  Panties on the floor, kisses in the shower, reading Alice in Wonderland,  and a life is beautiful moment.  Then Jack gets the call that Hurley needs to see him.  Dr. Stillman, Hurley's shrink, tells Jack that Hurley thinks he doesn't exist.  Hurley tells Jack he's been talking to Charlie and Charlie has a message for him.  Charlie also tells Jack someone will be visiting him.

Future Jack catches future Kate on the phone and assumes she is a cheater.  Well, there was the whole Sawyer thing back on the island.  He starts seeing his dad's ghost (or is it), popping pills and drinking to much.  He confronts Kate about her whereabouts and she says trust me.  Yeah, honey, have you met you?  She calls Aaron her son, and Jack says "you aren't even related to him."  Which is TRUE.  I am not a fan of Jack hooking up with Juliet, but I am really not a Kate and Jack fan either.

Back on the island, Jack is getting his surgery and he wants to participate.  Thankfully cooler heads prevail and we don't have to see it.  I mean, Juliet takes control and has Bernard knock Jack out.

Now, Sawyer and Miles take set up camp and sometime in the night Christian (aka Jack's Dad, aka Claire's Dad, aka Jacob) shows up and leads Claire and Aaron away.  But the revelation comes when she says, "Dad?"  She knows?  Wait one, I-am-your-father-minute, she knows who her dad is? Well,  he is a world reknowned surgeon, and daddy to Jack.  How does she not know she is related to Jack, or is our little Aussie more deceptive than we thought?

My questions: why have we not seen Desmond and Sayid for two episodes now (flash forwards of Sayid don't count).  What has happened with Michael?  Why no mention of Ben or Locke this episode?  Wouldn't Ben feel foolish if he knew that Claire can see Jacob too?

Oh, and Jin putting the smackdown on Charlotte was fabulous!

Until next time...
