" I Shot The Tambourine Man!"

Can I just start this off by saying how much I hate the stupid line up thing they do at the beginning? I hate it almost as much as the zombie arm waving pit.

Ooooh, fellow Canadian Howie Mandel!

Sorry.

RyRy starts us off by telling us that there " were nearly 51 million votes cast" ( for real? Damn!) and that the top three were all within one million votes of each other. Somehow that's close, yet not all that close. Kind of pointless info.

Question- WTF is Paula wearing? It resembles a toga with poofs made out of a bedspread. Or curtains.

Opening number... all the songs in the HoF, and they pick... STEELY F'ING DAN? Shoot me. And poor Sexy having to do that terrible choreography and sing that stupid song. Poor baby. Come here, Mommy will make it all better.

Did anyone else think Squinty looked like a deer in the headlights while singing the opening line?

Last night. Do you really want to remember last night? No, didn't think so.

RyRy calls out Squinty first. Watch him scurry across the stage like the toddler he is. Then RyRy starts asking questions. Ummm... ummm... ummmm... Squinty cannot form a cohesive sentence. Shut up, RyRy, quit asking questions before Squinty's head explodes from having to think about what to say. Robots do not compute that quickly, no matter what the movies say.

Awwww, look. Squinty gets to go sit on the couch and go home to a parade, where he might just get trampled by a marching band. I don't wish ill on the boy, but I'm afraid his batteries will die mid stride.

Footage now of the Final Four in Vegas. Final 4= Fab 4, according to RyRy's narration. I love my Idols, but no. Although I think Sexy is sexier than all four Beatles combined. It was apparently a little crazy at the Cirque du Soleil show, Love.  Whatevs, DC looks hawt, and that's all that metters. Oh, the other three were there, too, and there was a dolphin, I guess.

Now, RyRy calls SExy out. Fine, fine, FINE! Sexy admits that he was off yesterday ( it showed, and I forgive you, Baby). No matter, I get my DC fix for another week. Drool.

That leaves SySy and Jason in the bottom two. anyone shocked? No? Good.

That Ford commercial was hideous.... Cook eyebrow lift!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry. Where was I again?

Oh, the Ford payola. Yeah, hideous. Did anyone else see the ridicudokness of Squinty as a matador? And bad lip synch, kids.

I hate the first lady who asked a question on the Q and A. How dare she hit on my man like that.

Maroon Five... yawn.  I didn't like the new(ish) album, guys.

An Idol alum I can get behind seeing again- BO! I'm a Bice girl from way back ( since season four, like the rest of you. Geez). He looks good, sounds fab. Voicebox! And still sweet in a kickass way. Awww.

Back to current Idols...

Moment of truth...

Goodbye, Jason. I'll miss you and your laid back style. At least he was honest and admitted his inexperience was coming out.

That's it for this week, folks.

Last note: David Cook is hot. Just in case you didn't already know that.

Hey, hey, hey...Reelin' in the Years is a brilliant song, as are most Steely Dan tunes. It was just totally **** up by the Top 4 and the band who turned it into cruise ship cabaret.

Jun132003_714_lg

Hey, I just sent you an email (I think) -- did it to the new group, so not sure if it went anywhere. I got a friend invite from Slezak -- might be able to call in to Idolatry?! How f'@ckin cool would that be?!

Mar72003_699_lg

Can I hate you for a second? I mean, I wrote the mash note to his brilliance.
Cool for you though.
I luv you again.

Mar72003_699_lg

Collin, I already questioned your taste, considering the grief you give my man. But Steely Dan? Really? Nope, don't buy it. They go with Rush and Pink Floyd into the " Bands I Never Got" files.
Although I would rather listen to Steely Dan, Pink Floyd, and Rush than hear those four sing that song ever again.

Sep232005_841_lg

well, I love Rush and Pink Floyd, but I don't get the Bo Bice thing??

Admittedly I have never watched a season of Idol until now. But he looked like a lost Allman brother to me (and this is not a good thing in my book).

Mar72003_699_lg

And I love the Allman Brothers.
To each her own, I guess.

I think the Pink Floyd/ Rush/ Steely Dan hate really peaked after my ex and I split. He worships those bands and I can't listen to them without homicidal thoughts crossing my mind.

Jan122007_915_lg

Comparing Pink Floyd, Rush and Steely Dan is like comparing apples and Jason's empty head...they have no relation to each other sonically. Not a big fan of Rush, but Pink Floyd are amazing.

Sep232005_841_lg

I think Rush is an acquired taste. I never liked them but my husband is a huge fan. Eventually I grew to like them. Wish I could say the same thing about his love for beer, that one is just not sticking with me.

Sep292006_899_lg

Listen Collin the Jason bashing is getting a little much don't ya think? Please leave well enough alone. Besides I gotta agree that Steely Dan is middling at best. Of course I think Rush and the Allman Brothers fall in there as well. Pink Floyd were creative and innovative. The Wall!? Come on, brilliant piece of art. You who I really hate though, Journey. Ewe.

Mar72003_699_lg

I despise Journey. And every time Randy brings up the fact he was Journey's bassist for two seconds, I want to hit him.
I will admit that while I dislike Pink Floyd, I hate them less than the other two. I actually own Echoes, because it has Syd Barrett stuff on it and " I Wish You Were Here"( which I admit is just so sad and pretty). I own Syd Barrett's solo work, and I think he was a genius. It's the more famous stuff I just don't get.
My top three albums to listen to: The Ramones first album, the Clash's London Calling, and The Essential Bruce Springsteen. Rosalita!

Sep292006_899_lg

The Ramones first album is pure genius! If forced to pick my three favorite albums I'd have to go with Abbey Road, The Ramones and Live at Folsom Prison. Those are my all time favorites but currently I've been listening too Cake, Santogold, The Black Keys, The Raconteurs and My Morning Jacket.

Mar72003_699_lg

I'd take the White Album over Abbey Road ( and that's a toughie, believe me), because I can't live without Helter Skelter.

I've been listening to a lot of Canadian quirk lately- Feist, Broken Social Scene, Sarah Slean, Stars, Arcade Fire, Metric. The national music awards were held in my hometown this year, and I went to the Free concert they gave downtown. I got really hooked on some of the up and comers like Wintersleep.

Aug252006_893_lg

hate pink floyd and rush--I'm convinced Rush is some kind of subliminal alien language only men can understand--I meet very few women who enjoy them.

Love Bo, luv, luv, luv. And hey, what's all this Journey hating? I've got a soft spot for them, always will.

But, I'll admit--I've got trashy, mainstream music taste. Not discerning at all.

Palais--great recap. Oh, forgot to ask, is DC hot? ;-) Hope you're feeling better.

Jun132003_714_lg

I'm wid JWG. On all counts.

Mar72003_699_lg

What, did I forget to mention DC is hot? Damn.
Thanks, JWG and Bitten.
Journey sucks less than Foreigner. How's that?

Jun132003_714_lg

Them's fightin words -- I love me some Jukebox Hero, now!

Mar72003_699_lg

Jukebox Hero- fine. But Hot blooded- never.

Jun132003_714_lg

Indeed! Oh, and I actually kinda like "I Want to Know What Love Is" too... Schmaltzy ballad - go figure.

Aug252006_893_lg

Schmaltzy ballad, huh? Maybe Squinty should sing it, palais, and she'd get over it REAL quick.

I'm working, I'm working--really, I am . . . .arghh . . .

Mar72003_699_lg

I admit- " I Want To Know What Love Is" is on my I Pod. But I also have " Don't Stop Believin' ", because I laugh when I here it.
I also have twenty three David Cook songs between I Tunes and Analog Heart. Yummers.
