I liked it. Did anyone else think the guidance counselor was the one who had the affair with the jumper?

Clearly the guidance counselor was having an affair with the jumper. The real question is who was tormenting her until she jumped? The answer who cares about high school stuff when we are trying to prevent a super computer from becoming self aware and taking over the world. Are we just playing to the lowest common denominator? Why must we always have this gossip style drama in every show? I mean it is one thing for a love interest for John lets see how Cameron deals with that, or even for Sarah, but to bring in this extraneous story line for no real reason is just symptomatic of the dumbing down of television.
