What did you think about this episode? Excited? Disappointed? Tell us all about it!
My gods! I've been arguing with some fellow fans recently about whether or not this season of BSG is better or worse than the previous three, and this latest episode confirms (for me, in any case) that the writers, actors, and rest of the BSG crew have taken this show to the next level in Season 4. This episode was shocking, uplifting, thought-provoking--I was riveted the entire time. If Mary McDonnell doesn't get nominated for an Emmy for that scene at the bedside where she describes her mother's passing...well, I don't usually expect much from the Emmy voters, but that was too remarkable to overlook. I can't wait to see how things unfold from here, especially in light of the hybrid's revelation (I loved the look on Anders' face when he realized that D'Anna's model was going to get un-boxed and recognize him). Basically, I think the episode rocked!
i agree this season has been one of the best!! Mary McDonnell does deserve an emmy for her work in this episode. emmy voters will no doubt overlook this great show simply because it is on scifi. i am anxiously awaiting the exposure of the crew members as skin jobs. this will no doubt be a blow to everyone. how much longer can anders hold out? he was so close to communicating with the hybrid. i was so wanting to see what would happen there.
While Revelations gets all the attention because so many things happened in it, Faith was my favorite episode of the season, if not the series. It was incredibly moving and thought provoking - and watching Mary McDonnell is always something to behold. Her work in this episode was beyond reproach. I came late to Battlestar Galactica - I did not start watching it until a few months ago, and have watched all four seasons in sequence starting with the miniseries. I feel very lucky to have seen it all as one cohesive work with no breaks in between, it made the story even more compelling to me. This show is a masterpiece, and the fact that it has been overlooked for Emmy nomination is shocking to me. The only downside to watching it the way I did is now I have to wait like everyone else for the final episodes.
I loved this episode, too. The whole story about President Roslyn's battle with cancer is moving and inspiring. And Mary McDonnell (of course the rest of the cast too!) is a fantastic actress.
