I'm not sure if I'm going to check this out tomorrow night. Can anyone tell me more about it? Thanks!
You should buy her the SJA Sonic Lipstick toy. It flashes and makes that noise. lol
I have mixed feelings about it. I loved Sarah Jane when she was companion to Tom Baker's Doctor, and she made a memorable return in School Reunion during season 2.
Doctor Who is definitely a family show, appealing to both adults and kids alike, but SJA seems to be more purely a kids show. I was certainly surprised when SciFi picked it up for part of their SciFi Friday lineup. It follows Sarah Jane as she investigates alien mysteries with the help of an adopted son & neighbor.
All that being said, it's part of the Whoniverse, so I'm in.
The series gets better and better as it goes along, esp. by the time they get to the episode "Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane." That was fantastic. Since rmiriam is doing such an excellent job recapping DW, I plan to keep recapping SJA every week, so keep checking in.
My review of Part 2 of Revenge of the Slitheen just posted!
Hey, thanks! I tried the first episode and lasted about 5 minutes. Maybe I will give it another shot this week.
I also agree that it gets better as it goes on. If you have kids, I have four, they'll love watching it with you. My four and six year old love Doctor Who and really enjoyed Sarah Jane. My little girl thought the sonic lipstick was killer. She's now running around waving one of my lipsticks hoping it will open doors and what not.
I've been out of town so I totally slacked on writing the SJA recaps. Sorry guys. I watched last night and couldn't believe they've already run through the whole series. They aired the first part of The Lost Boy -- a brilliant episode. Can't wait for new episodes this fall.
