Last night's show definitely had its disappointments but I did enjoy Jason Castro's "Over The Rainbow". At first, when I saw that he was sitting there with another guitar-type thing in hand, I couldn't help but question, "are you serious?"...but after I listened to him sing I have to say that I LOVED it. His voice is so pure and it was the perfect song choice.

Now, I could go on about Kristie Lee Cook hanging on for dear life, Carly being the biggest dissappointment (she's my favorite), and David Cook totally bombing it...but...
what overpowers ALL of that is BROOKE WHITE'S performance!! That was THE most boring performance, and it felt like the song just wouldn't END!
And am I the only one that was convinced she was on drugs last night?? She was SO out of it when the judges were talking to her and then even Ryan asked her if she was ok. Brooke please...you're too much. Talk about emotional.

I have to admit I didn't watch much of "Idol Gives Back". Call me cynical, but after all the reports of so little of the money raised by these events actually going to the intended targets, I'd rather give directly to the various charities that i know will use almost 100% to help those in need . Still it is a very worthwhile way for those people who aren't inclined to contribute to charities unless the "emotional factor" propels them to do so.

Sorry, I couldn't get past the "Tiny Tim" thing with Jason Castro's ukelele performance. Most of you are probably too young to remember Tiny Tim.

My votes go to Carly and David A., whom I consider to be the most naturally gifted of the bunch , and they both have the "it" factor!!
