Has anyone seen this one yet?
I'm really split down the middle on it. Half of me feels like it was a lame way to open up the possibility for another spinoff. Either that or someone wanted to figure out a way to employ a very attractive daughter of a former Doctor. On the other hand, David Tennant knocked it out of the park. He was so touching. The father/daughter angle did make me emotional. Though I was hoping for her creation to be a bit more dishy. And it was nice to get a little more background info on the Doctor.
Does anyone else think that there is going to be a twist to who Martha's boyfriend is? There has to be a reason we haven't seen him yet.
So next week is the two part historical episode we get every series. It looks bit like filler. Either that or I'm having trouble concentrating waiting for the return of "you know who". Now that reunion is going to be emotional!
I have to admit I wasn't loving this one as much. I thought Martha did well and Donna was fab as always and Tennant is brilliant. I just thought they missed a big opportunity to harken back to the classic series and answer some questions, such as the origins of his granddaughter Susan Foreman. The Agatha Christie episode looks fantastic to me! Did you notice the giant bee? That's been a running them this season, so it must mean something.
I missed the giant bee. I'll have to take another look. I was expecting a lot more from this episode. I thought that the actors did the best with what they were given.
You're right. I didn't realize she said his name. I read that it was him though.
Tennant really did knock it out of the park on this one. I'm sure we'll be seeing Jenny again. I did get a kick out of "You're amazing, Jenny!" since, well, that's my name.
I thought we had seen Martha's fiancee already. Wasn't he the cute revolutionary in Last of the Time Lords?
I'm pretty sure that was Martha's fiancee, I think they mention that in the commentary that David, Freema, and John do for LOTL. You can check it out on the Sci-fi channel website (I think) If you haven't already listened to it, it's pretty good.
For the record, I found the plot of The Doctor's Daughter pretty slapdash. They could have done so much more!
