What will we learn about Locke?,
What will we learn about Locke?

What i want to know is what about the statue of that foot at the season 2 finale? It suggests that there was an ancient civilation on the island and Richard Alpert
and the other "hostiles" are immortal and were part of that ancient civilation?

What I can't work out is Ben and his connection to Charles Widmore. Jacob is the key somehow. Ben wiped out his small colony and killed his Father. Ben did this either because he somehow wanted a power to himself that the people he grew up with either could develop or already had, or it was some sort of test of devotion to Jacob. Remember Ben tried to have Locke kill his Father to prove his worthiness. Ben can not harm Widmore and Widmore can not harm Ben because of a rule. Jacob's rule? Desmond enters into this also. I believe Widmore placed Desmond on the Island and Desmond as British elite military, volunteered for the job, maybe to win favor with Widmore or to obtain the money to marry Widmore's daughter. Is Jacob the scientist that Desmond visited?

Question: Who were those two pictures in teen John Locke's locker? One appeared to be a psychedelic era band, but I couldn't make out the lettering. Perhaps Jefferson Airplane? One of their big hits was "White Rabbit", after all, which would fit in well with the many "Alice in Wonderland" references. Or perhaps the Grateful Dead, which would also make sense given the smiley Christian and Claire's possible status as ghosts (?) As for the otehr picture, the show clearly has a jones for scientists, so that's a possibility, as is author Lewis Carroll, which would drive home the "Alice" connection. Anyone with a bigger, better TV with better resolution know?

Who is Jacob? He seems to be very special. But sometimes I feel like that he is not real. Perhaps he is just created by John. John is linked to the island.
Is that possible that Jacob is part of John himself ?

Hi Doc:

The scene where young John is given his test is very similar to a scene in the movie "Kundun" where, through the successful completion of the test, the child is identified as the reincarnated Dalai Lama. Reincarnation could be considered a traveling consciousness, couldn't it? So Hinduism and Buddhism are nodded to, as well as the other religions you mentioned.

To mrgordo: The poster on teenage Locke's locker was of Geronimo Jackson. The 70's rock band that Charlie and Hurley listened to in The Hatch back in season two. Also, Locke's undercover friend Eddie at the commune was wearing a Geronimo Jackson shirt last season, remember? Also, the photograph in his locker is that of the famous explorer Sir Richard Burton. The only reasons I know those answers are because...1.) I have the privelage of watching LOST on a 60" Sony 1080p HD TV and...2.)I have access to lostpedia.com! LOL!
