Yeah, I'm a sucker for this finale

You forgot about "Through the Looking Glass"!!! It is such an amazing episode, finale or not. I still get chills up and down my arms when I watch the last 5 minutes. Watching Charlie die, Jack trying to kill himself was all good. But, when Jack meets Kate at the airport, I still gasp and scream, "Oh my gosh, its the future. They got off the island!!" One of the best finales ever!!!

Hooray for "Die Me, Dichotomy" making the list!

Blasphemy! "Through the Looking Glass" is probably the best finale EVER! How could they have forgotten that????

How does this list even exist without the current master of season finales: Lost? Even some of your own writers have proclaimed Through the Looking Glass may be one of the best in TV history. So what's the deal? This list is flawed. You're also missing Friends season 1: The One Where Rachel Finds Out

I agree. The omission of Lost's season 3 finale from that list is criminal. The most ingenious part about it is that "Through the Looking Glass" used Lost's most tried-and-true storytelling technique (the flashback) and go a basic 180 under our very noses, even with a few subtle clues pinching viewers before the big reveal in the final five minutes. After that, it transformed the episode from superb to legendary and reinvented Lost from that point forward.

Although I'm not as vexed with this exclusion, I also liked Jericho's season 1 finale, ending with a fade to black with guns going off in the background. Along with Jake and Eric's dad dying, the war with New Bern that led to the climactic firefight, and the first glimpse of the inverted US flag with a significant number of stars missing (which we later learn represents the Allied States of America), that episode gave me the chills that few season finales can pull off.

omg yes i love the "Felicity" finale from season 1!

a few of my favorite season finales:

Melrose Place Season 4: Kimberly is about to blow up the building!

To slightly diagree with you RobGrizzly, but I think Friends finale when Ross gets married in London and says Rachel's name is the better finale. This finale changed the show forever. Monica and Chandler became a couple! Just so many moments came to fruition because of London.

Yeah, Friends has had alot of great finales. It's a shame not one of them found their way onto this list (yet they included other sitcoms like Seinfeld)

What??? The "Lost" finale from last season (2006-2007) was not on the list?

It was by far one of the top 5 season finales ever. It single handedly brought back tons of fans who had abandoned the show and it had my jaw dropped to the floor for days afterwards.

Shame on you EW for not including it on the list.

Contrary to what many of you are saying, this list does already contain the best season finale ever. Packed with brilliant action and character advancement, nothing can touch the power of "The Telling" (Alias, season 2, of course). Seriously, as much as I love "Through the Looking Glass", it didn't come close to the shock of the end of "The Telling". Oh man. Just those six words.

"Why are you wearing that ring?"

My heart literally skipped a beat. Also notable is the awful but shocking season 4 finale, which actually made me fall off my couch I freaked out so bad, as well as the pitch-perfect series finale.

Ah, I love me some Alias.
