This ep was a cop-out. Maybe Fox's false advertising is to blame. Maybe it's the show's producers, for the way they seemed to manipulate and spin every aspect of tonight's episode. Maybe it's our own faults for expecting more from what is, let's face it, sleezy televison. (Hell's Kitchen, isn't that far removed from something like Judge Judy in my opinion- but then, I feel that way about all reality TV)

Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. The teams had a sweet sixteen theme this week, and while no one wanted to listen to Matt during shopping or cooking, it turned out he was the only one of them who'd been to a sweet sixteen recently. I was amused by this.

And then, during service he still sucked. This amused me more. Look, it's not like I care who wins these things. I just want to see Ramsey make people cry. Since Matt always looks like he's going to cry,  I welcome him with open arms. He wasn't being listened to last night, but really, he hasn't shown his worth, so why listen to him?

The prize for the challenge was a trip to Speed Zone, which I found pretty cool, since I used to run the tracks there.  Trust me, Go Kart racing is STILL fun, no matter what the age. Besides, they have dragsters, too.

As usual, there was cattiness on both sides of the kitchen, as incompotent person after incompotent person whined about how they all work. (I don't think anyone deserves the prize this year) Ugly girl A won't cooperate with ugly girl B, and so forth. But the "New Yowk-er" had another bad service- so bad, that Gordon took over her station. I actally kinda like her, so it's too bad she sucks. That evil blonde complained about Ugly Girl C being too slow. (We'll call her Shayna, that'll be important later.)

There was a huge cheat invovling Luross and the tall evil blonde and a possible romance. No go. Normally this would have annoyed me, but I guess I was in a good mood last night. I didn't care much either way. I was amused. There was the guest of honor, and her tough-cookies mom. Real family or hired actors? The girl had never had shrimp before so that actually lent credibility to her. (Nothing a west coast kid says surprises me anymore.) But does that matter? Do I care? Nah, it won't change the overall outcome of the competion. The right person will win at the end of the day. I trust that Ramsay won't hand his restaurant over to a fool. (In fact, I would be surprised of nobody won this season)

Chef would like us to worry over the contrary. He picked Matt to stay and gave Shayna (who are you, again?) the boot.  I'm thinking the desicion comes from the fact that she really was just too slow to work in his kitchen. People seemed outraged by this, but it's not like Matt is going to win this thing either. Just enjoy the fact that he's around one more week. He's kinda funny to watch. You must admit, it'll be interesting to see what happens with him on the red team next week. Looks like Chef Ramsay was interested, too.
