Why Lost is So Awesome: Reason #4.08

Spooky Libby.
That's right, the innocent bystander who had the bad luck of being at the wrong place at the wrong time, is hautning the traitor formerly known as Michael Dawson. Is she an apparition or just the manifestation of Michael's guilt? Either way I'm glad Cynthia Watros gets to do these little tid-bits of work, because the producers seem to have no real interest in fleshing out her character any more than they already have. (She's shown up randomly in several flashbacks, with no real explaination other than to have fans go "Hey! It's Libby!)
Why was it only Libby, one wonders? I was crossing my fingers for an appearance from Michelle Rodriguez, but I guess Mike doesn't feel as bad for killing Ana Lucia (and Rodriguez wasn't available).
The most noteworthy thing about "Meet Kevin Johnson" was the format. Unlike the usual back and forth, this episode was almost entirely told in flashback, but the neat thing is it was a post-island flashback. I know, it sounds weird for me to say, too.
Like season 2's "Three Minutes," this ep seeked to sympathize Michael for his actions. The writers also did the only thing I thought possible they could do to write Walt off the show- they made it to where Micheal did take him home, and that is where he stays, while Daddy sails back into action. Easy, but it makes the most sense; though a kill would have been much more dramatic.
Speaking of killing, there was alot of that going around. People trying to kill themselves, people not knowing they might get themselves killed, people planning to kill others, people hoping to save others from getting killed, and people dying anyway (thanks ABC for ruining another surprise with your tactless promos). But were the deaths of Rousseau and Karl that much of a surprise? Nah. The worst part about working on this show is that the moment you become expendable, you will be expend...ed(?) (I'm tired, leave me alone)
Tonight's episode was a nice bit of work. There were 2 baffling questions: How is Tom still alive? And did I hear him right? "The Island won't let you die??" The one question probably answers the other, but I've got to admit, there was something intrinsically cool about seeing Others flexing their power even off the island, manipulating the poor guy. However, Micheal's continued suicide attempts seem awfully out of character.
So no more new episodes for about a month. I'm not that bummed, honestly. It's alot better than 8 months. And they've given us alot to take in for now.
Fondest Wish: That we get to still get to see plenty more of that yummy Naomi chick in the future.
"Mr. Friendly": about as friendly as it gets, apparently (yuk yuk)
It's too bad: Doesn't look like I'll be getting that Rousseau flashback after all...

Don't think Michael sees Anna Lucia's death in the same light as Libby's. He meant to kill Anna Lucia, he never wanted to shoot Libby. She startled him like a deer caught in the headlights. Wrong place at the wrong time. Michael's tortured by Libbys' ghost b/c it wasn't supposed to happen like that & he kept it secret. He left evryone to die on that island while he got away with Walt. That's some pretty powerful guilt! The fact that he's tried sooo many times to kill himself & can't is the answer to him. He HAS to go back. He has to rescue them, keep them from all being murdered, and get them home. Only then, (though he won't find peace or forgiveness) will he be able to DIE.

RE: Tom alive
The time we see Tom (AKA, Mr Friendly,) he hadn't been shot by Sawyer yet. In current Lost time, that was less than a week ago. Tom appears here around 30 days ago (again, from current Lost time).

RE: Tom alive
When we see Tom (aka Mr Friendly) the first time here, he had yet to be shot by Sawyer. That occured around a week ago, using current Lost time as a base of reference. In 'Meet Kevin Johnson's flashback, it begins over 30 days ago... when Tom was still alive.

AH! Thanks, Drake. I must have missed the mention of when exactly these events were happening-
