Home is Where The Heart is... [Sometimes]

Now did that season finale deliver or did it deliver?! It's been a full week since the airing of that spectacular finale and my mind is still mushy.. but i'm used to it thanks to LOST...

 There are a couple of things that i have noticed about the season four finale... For one: it is a culmination of all the previous finales... it combined the mystery of season one, the questions of season two, and the answers of season three into a three hour television event that rocked all of our television [and in some cases dvr sets and computer monitors] screens. I have heard many fans howlering the show has gone downhill and my only response is... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? think about it.. not only did LOST have one of its best seasons [if not the best] but it did so in a shortened time frame [see WRITER'S STRIKE] while most shows lacked any direction or purpose this show flowed gracefully weaving through actions on and off the island seamlessly. Was it better than the season 3 finale... YES! maybe it did not have that final scene which splattered our brains but this finale did what most finales wish they could do. It entertained us, gave us answers, gave us questions, left us LOST, and gave season 5 the potential to be just as good as season 4 [which in my opinion was the best show of the 2007-2008 tv season] I also hear critics shouting that this finale was the least watched yet... BUT WHO CARES... LOST has been renewed through its last episode... and in case thsoe critics haven't realized it is the #1 show that gets a boost from DVR [anywhere from 1 - 3 million] and that also doesnt count the millions who watch it illegally online [see HULU and OVGUIDE.COM] regardless of those statements LOST still recieves about 17 million viewers maybe not all at once... but they are watching....

 Now... Where do we start? with an episode as packed as this... [i'm not going to dissect the whole episode cause doing so would cause my mind to implode like a certain hatch did in season 2] so ill just state my favorite parts and scenes...

AIRPORT SCENE continued... LOST came at us hard in it's first minutes continuing the earth shattering scene from last years finale.. but this time it was Kate who got to get what was off her chest. this was a fantastic scene and it started the finale off in a great way.

THE FREIGHTER & THE BOMB: I gotta hand it to Harold P. he came back to the show only to die heroicly? i can't lie i wanted a Walt/Michael ruinon. and as much as i love the fact that the freighter did actually explode [albeit: the death of jin =[..] i really felt bad for Walt when he was talking to Hurley... poor thing...

 THE FATE OF JIN: I'm not gonna lie. when the freighter exploded and Sun had her emotional break down... i cried. You see LOST has made me cry before [See Season one EP 04 and 19] but not like this... i couldn't stop... through out the commercials i was wailing as if Jin was a tangible person i knew... and this is what i absolutely love about LOST. It is a show that has created characters that seem so real and tangible that our emotions are delicately woven around them. [most ppl who criticized this show fail to realize this] KUDOS to the writers and to YUNJIN KIM who better recieve an emmy nod for her performance in this episode.... but back to what i was saying Is Jin Dead or Alive? i honestly don't know. Sun in the future seems determined to find the island [is it because she thinks he is alive and wants to find him or becuase she holds Ben resposnsible for Jin's death and wants to punish him anyway she can?] only time will tell...

FAITH vs. SCIENCE... the showdown continues.... ok so Jack has been annoying me since the end of season 2... and it continues... i mean i like the guy but sometimes i just want a lil Sayid/Jack showdown to take place haha! So Jack and Locke have another historic talk of faith and science... plainly stated it's a GREAT scene....

 BEN... crazy ol BEN: Can Michael Emerson just pick up his emmy already?! I mean Come on no other actor on television can put so much anger, emotion, vulnerability, fear, and pain into one word.. "So." my heart dropped when that line was said. I love BEN, i hate BEN,  I love BEN. i move back and forth with him... but i know one thing he is the most entertaining character on LOST right now... and after pushing that "FROZEN DONKEY WHEEL" he was thrown off the island 10 months into the future that we saw in "THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME". WOW! this show just doesn't quit! Now Ben go kick some WIDMORE ass... [unless he is the good guy... who really knows]

HEROIC SAWYER... thank you sawyer, in the previous seasons i felt like a jackass since you were my favorite character. Thank you for giving me a reason this season to say your my favorite character... if you die... i'll lose it... now go! GO! and get tipsy with emotionally distraught Juliet... just remember... Kate will be back... =]

 DESMOND & PENNY: A great reunion i did not expect to happen until season 5 or 6 hopefully this doesn't spell doom like Sayid and Nadia...

 LOCKE... so Locke is dead in the future 3 years after everyone is off the island. hmmm. didn't see that coming... i was thankful that Ben wasn't in there. heck there were rumors even Jacks dad was occuppying it. but i'm sure that LOCKE will rise when his casket touches the islands shores... =]

KEAMY: Say hello to LOCKE's dad down there ok?! [that's for killing ALEX, KARL, and Danielle you as*]

THE OTHERS... it's pretty obvious that not all goes to plan... when LOCKE becomes their "king" or "messiah" [hmmm maybe thats what jacob once was? lock=jacob anyone?] either way Jeremy Bentham is a far cry from John Locke so something must happen that makes John Locke a radical... [even worse then Ben] this is fore-shadowed in the dialogue between Ben and Locke in the Orchid Station. {NOTE: remember this show leaves hints all the time... fans keep complaining and asking questions when all you need to do is listen to the dialogue} So all you who dissect every scene listen to the DIALOGUE!

So that was a great episode of LOST definetly one of the best... Here's to hoping that LOST wins BEST SERIES at the Emmy's along with nods/wins for Michael Emerson and Yunjin Kim for supporting actor [I'd also love to see Josh Holloway and Evangeline Lilly nominated along with Elizabeth Mitchell... i know she was barely shown but hey i'm still a little upset about her emmy snub last year]

well thats about it.... now all we have is Comic - Con and a long wait till January... =[
