I love Mariah Carey and I feel so sorry that she got stuck on what was easily one of the all time worst SNL episodes. It was painful to watch long enough to see Mariah. I recorded it and I should have just fastforwarded to Mariah and avoided the rest. It was terrible, start to finish. Poor Amy Poehler stuck with this no talent group.
Having Tina Fey back recently made it even clearer how weak the writing and cast are.

It's kind of hilarious, cuz Mariah's songs were when i tuned out!..Her music/obsessive boob touching grates my face, and I cannot handle her..
As for the ep. itself? Not the best of the season, and Jonah was working really hard, but it just wasn't their night. Though I will admit to calling my S/O 'fancy' on multiple occasions. And who can claim that the Samberg/Hill "i'm dating your dad" sketch wasn't hilarious!?!
Here's to time off to recoup..

Loren Michaels said in an interview after the strike something to the effect of last time they did 4 episodes in 4 weeks it almost killed them. Well.... it looks like it might do them in again.

I don't think it was quite as bad as you let on. The Suze Orman jackets thing was funny and spot-on (have you ever watched a Suze show? It's just like that!)
The biggest downfall, like always, is that they allow the sketches to go on long after they hit a high note. I know they are strapped for good ideas (Dr. Uncle Jimmy's BBQ and Outpatient Surgery? Really??), but I'd rather watch many short, tight junky skits than a few long, loose ones.
