So You Think You Can Dance: Cirque du Mark
Hey, if we haven't seen the dead body, or even if we have, anything is possible. Besides, I refuse to believe that my favorite hobbit is really dead. I know they say denial is the first stage of grief, but I'm gonna be in denial of Charlie's death until the last episode of Lost airs. So there.
We saw him die. We saw the heart and soul of Drive Shaft take his last breath, and float away to his watery grave. It's a shame that it has come to the point where a body has to be layed out on a slab for someone to believe that dead is dead. Lost shouldn't have to spell things out for us (like Heroes *cough* cough).
Without intervention, Desmond's visions have to come true. This is one of the rules of the show, as well as with sci-fi/time travel conventions- call it the "destiny theory." Furthermore, Dominic was expressing concern with the considerably less screen time he and other castaways were recieving due to new characters. He felt Charlie Pace had run his course.
Besides, since going out in such an amazing way, dramtic and poignant, it would be a cheap cop-out to reveal he is still kickin it somewhere in Manchester; Lost has always been about risks, and they've never been afraid to kill off popular characters.
Sorry, Jingle. I love Charlie, too, but I love Lost more for having the guts to give him the axe.
What was the best cop show on TV from 1998 to 2008?

I have to agree with RobGrizzly.

Producers have said that once you die on the show, you are dead (Unless you figure in the nefarious zombie season of LOST).

I agree with RobGrizzly. Charlie died, plain and simple. He died knowing that he helped his friends (especially Claire) out by being their savior. Dominic's last two episodes were magnificent acting on his part. He HAS to come back for more episodes, in flashback of course.

Although RobGrizzly makes a great point I think I have to agree with Jingle80. What makes Lost such a great show is that it is so unpredictable. Is Charlie surviving or coming back to life any more crazy then Desmond predicting the future or Locke talking to an invisible Jacob. I don't deny the fact that Charlie is dead but I think to rule him out of such an unpredictable sci-fi storyline is naive of die hard lost fans.

I disagree with joshkedwards. While Lost is a great show in that it is unpredictable, a large part of its greatness is that it is unconventional. Something as cheesy as soap-opera style (yeah, I said it) "back from the dead/not really dead" story-lines are not Lost's style. I think many, many fans would be disappointed if Lost pulled a 180 and started resuscitating dead characters. The "flash-forward or flash-back?" question every time we see off-island action is gimmick enough.

I think, Jingle, that you've confused Lost with another fantastic Abrams show. I know very well that people who died on Alias didn't usually stay dead, but I think the most alive we'll see Charlie will be in Season 7: The Zombie Season.

I'm just happy to see that they have awesome sunglasses in heaven. Charlie looked better than ever.

the producers flat out said he was dead. i think thats a good indicator that he died.

charlie is dead. BUT, even the dead get to make appearances in order to flesh out the storyline. so i for one hope to see charlie the messanger from beyond at least a few epis a season til the end.
