So You Think You Can Dance: Cirque du Mark
Peyton did not just accept Haley back into the circle of friends when she returned from touring with Chris because she had feelings of abandonment all her life because of her adopted mom dying, her biological mother giving her away, her father always being gone, and Jake leaving her. When Haley left she felt those same feelings of abandonment and also could sympathize with how Nathan was feeling.
Wow. Where do I even begin? How about with the fact that Peyton told Haley to leave. Sure, it is bad that Haley kissed Chris. Fact is, she realized it was a mistake and gave up everything she had worked so hard for--- her DREAM, which she was living. She came back for Nathan, though, and was constantly trying to fix things. All Peyton was ever doing was sticking her nose in business that was not even hers. There is a difference between letting somebody know that you don't like what they did, and making things worse by being immature.
First of all...I never recall Peyton telling Haley to leave. And I know she certainly didn't condone her leaving her husband and cheating on him with another guy(kissing Chris). And she realized it was a mistake pretty late in the game. After she had taken the ring off and told Nathan she thought their marriage was a mistake. She eventually came back, so kudos for that. I like Haley and all, but I'm glad that Nathan and Peyton didn't just accept her back right away. And if you'll notice Peyton backed off once Nathan forgave Haley for what she did. She was just feeling empathy for Nathan because she had been in his situation and she wanted Haley to know that it sure doesn't feel good to have your heart trampled. And after Haley cheated on Nathan and deserted her friends I think that Peyton had every right to treat her the way that she did. She never said mean things to Haley except in responses to when Haley talked to her. I thought it was hilarious when at the beach party Peyton put When the Stars Go Blue on after Haley tried making conversation with her. Nothing that Peyton did hurt the reconnection of Naley, she just simply let Haley know how she felt in an entertaining way.
I cannot recall the exact moment either, but I do remember that she at least told her or someone else that it was a good thing for her to do. So either way she agreed with Haley going on tour.
As for her realizing that it was a mistake late in the game, try to remember that she wasn't even gone the entire season, and one season is half of one school year.
Nathan, does has every right to not to take her back. But here is the MAJOR problem I have with Petyon acting the way she was acting towards Haley (other than it not being her business).
What was it that happened in the episode where Peyton and Lucas are in a hotel room together in season one? Oh... yeah. That's right, they did a whole lot more than a little kiss that was shared between Haley and Chris.
But wait! There is more! What was it that Peyton did in the shooting episode? Did she kiss Lucas AGAIN when he was in a relationship with her best friend... again? Yes, I think she did. This makes her a hypocrite, which--in my book--is one of the worst traits a person can have. Don't get me wrong. I love Peyton. But when it comes down to it, she had no right to treat Haley the way she did. Pot calling kettle black?
While she may have told someone that it was good that Haley was on tour, I'm sure that's only because she didn't know that Haley was going to give up her marriage in the process. And when I said late in the game, I meant after already taking the ring off and telling Nathan their marriage was a mistake, I wasn't putting a time frame on it. And as for the "problem" you have with Peyton, let me just say that Brooke and Lucas weren't married and Lucas was the Haley in that cheating scenario, not Peyton. That doesn't make what Peyton did to Brooke right, but it is not the same situation. It was the more Haley giving up on her marriage and choosing music over Nathan that was the problem, not her kissing Chris. Yes Peyton made bad judgement when kissing Lucas when she thought her dad might be dead and then again when she thought she was going to die. Bad Peyton for not having her thoughts all collected in life or death situations. So no, Peyton isnt a hypocrite by being **** towards Haley when she returns to town.
Haley giving up her marriage was not fair at all to begin with. She was given an ultimatum to either follow her dream or stay with Nathan, and I think she made the right choice following her dream. An ultimatum in this situation is unfair to Haley and, if anything, would push her (after choosing to go on tour) towards Chris. This does not mean that Haley was right by kissing Chris, because I couldn't stand that she did that.
Let us not forget that what we are arguing is whether or not Peyton had the right to be mad at Haley. To begin with, Haley did nothing to Peyton by going on tour. To say that she did is rediculous, especially as she encouraged her leaving.
I also think that the person helping the cheater cheat, is also cheating. ESPECIALLY if we are talking about that person's best friend. What we have here is a classic case of double standards on your part. If you like Peyton, you have every right to do so. I love Peyton myself, but I can recognize when she's being immature and irrational. Plus, the fact that you use death as an excuse is a little morbid. When I'm about to die, or a parent of mine ~might~ be dead, I don't start kissing whoever I'm with. Ah well..
What was the best cop show on TV from 1998 to 2008?

I'm loving this a Tree Hill throwdown! I was mad at Haley for the most part of Season 2. I enjoyed how Peyton let Haley know what she thought of the situation. And don't get me started on the Brooke/Lucas/Peyton triangle. I love them all and the all drive me crazy at some point. Its why I love the show

Look, I think that they both kind of suck, but in this particular situation, Haley deserved what she got. I never really understood how everyone could welcome her back into the fold so quickly after she ditched everyone and everything at the drop of a hat.

Okay, so she deserved what she got. But did Peyton really have the right to be holier-than-thou when she did---what i believe--the same thing... only twice rather than once? I don't think that she ditched anyone. If she did, it was Lucas who wasn't bothered by it. And I definitely don't believe it was at the drop of a hat. She certainly contemplated it; think of what she would have been giving up had she not gone on the tour...

OKAY. So. I cannot even believe that I forgot about this. Current season, the same thing happens with Peyton and Lucas. Lindsey and Lucas are together, and what does Peyton do? Oh... yeah. She kisses him while he's in a relationship with another girl. Hypocracy much?
