Don't get me wrong, they are both absolutely hilarious, but it is mostly the star power that makes the second one awesome. Sarah Silverman and Matt Damon just get so into the song in the first one that you can't help but laugh hysterically. "I'm F*****g Matt Damon....while you're drinking diet snapple." And then the random rap scene turned knock knock joke...how can you not love it?

I agree that the star power helps drive the Ben Affleck song, but that isn't a bad thing. It's not like the stars are just thrown in there to be thrown in there. The Brad Pitt apperance is hilarious and the celebrity chorus and Josh Groban's performance perfectly lampoon charity singles like "We Are the World" and "Do They Know it's Christmas."

I give all the credit in the world to Sarah Silverman and Matt Damon, but the only reason you can call that one better is that it came first. I'm **** Ben Affleck is so good because nothing about it is predictable - Ben Affleck's involvement, the fact that it is not directly lampooning Sarah and Matt, and not only the celebrity involvment, but which celebrities are involved. Who really expected Josh Groban to ever do anything to shed his family safe image?

No, the star power is not a bad thing at all...it holds the performance together. Brad Pitt is quite entertaining in the second one as is Harrison Ford, but I just dont think that there is enough Jimmy and Ben in it. I much preferred the first one which was nothing but Sarah and Matt. And it was just so shocking and hilarious how into it Matt Damon got, and it completely came out of nowhere...

You make good points, and like I said earlier, you have to give Sarah Silverman credit for coming up with it first. It spread around the internet so quickly though, that it kind of got old and boring by the next week.

Ben Affleck and Jimmy Kimmel brought a new twist to the bit. Sarah and Matt started the joke, but Ben and Jimmy kept it going and kept it relevant. That's much harder to do.

I definitely have to disagree about the comment on it spreading around the internet so quick that it got old and boring by the next week. Whenever I hear people referencing either video, the majority reference a line from the Matt Damon one....probably because there really aren't any lines in the second one except tons of celebrities consistently saying the one line song title and maybe putting a little bit of a spin on it. The Matt Damon one had all of the funny lyrics and its the song that you can't get out of your head. Its not really that hard to get the one line of lyrics from the Ben Affleck song out of your head at all. If they put the songs on itunes which one do u think would sell better? I think that hands down the Matt Damon one would. It is absolutely hilarious and it is catchy as hell.

Both are good. I am not saying that I didn't enjoy Sarah Silverman's bit, but Jimmy Kimmel came up with the perfect response. It would have been funny even if there was never a Matt Damon bit to begin with.

Part of what makes the Ben Affleck piece so appealing is that Matt Damon seems to be doing all he can to distance himself from Affleck lately. For Kimmel to pull him into it is awesome! What makes it though is (as I mentioned before) that it is a perfect send up of the charity single. Sarah Silverman is **** Matt Damon for her own pleasure. Jimmy Kimmel's video makes you feel like he's **** Ben Affleck to make the world a better place.
