I'm sure she's a wonderful person, but I have yet to get through a full episode of 30 minute meals- and I want to- but somewhere between her preparation of the entree and desert, my spine starts twitching and I HAVE to change the channel.
I'm not saying she's evil, just...a little... creepy.
Maybe it's all that orange.

Creepy? Have you seen the FHM photo shoot?

Nothin' creepy about those strawberries!

I dunno man,
I think they're something creepy about saying 'Nothin' creepy about those strawberries!'
:)

Very perceptive. By "strawberries" I do mean jugs. You're a smart lad. Now, onto the argument. I don't know that I'd call her "creepy." I might call her "nerdy" or "a fan of schtick." Creepy would be if her TV kitchen were decorated with pictures from a children's swim wear catalog. THAT would be creepy.

Yes, that would be creepy. I'm with you on that. Very creepy indeed. I think what it comes down to is 'degree of perkiness.' I commend anyone for having a naturally positive view of the world, and I know that her bubbly demeanor is what elevated her from cooking show host to household name, but I just can't seem to get past it.
Maybe over time, if I were to watch 30 minute meals over and over again for some extended period of time, I would eventually get used to it, but for the moment, she kind of freaks me out.

Look, I know I'm gonna lose this thing. As I type the score is 12 - 3. So I'll just come out and say it. I want to **** Rachel Ray.

It doesn't seem normal for one person to have that much energy--or be able to dice an onion that quickly while giggling. She is a little creepy, but she can definitely cook. Her turkey-meatball and broccoli rabe stoup is now a favorite in my kitchen.
In conclusion: she is a little freaky, but in a good way.
OzzieAlThor 03/28/08
She's not creepy, she's spazzy. Totally different. She's attractive, smart and can cook.
Helloooooooo?
jkcampbell 03/28/08
She makes up stupid words like "EVOO" and calls sandwiches "sammies." Freaks. Me. Out.
The Counteragent 03/28/08
I was a better cook when I was 13, and I don't feel the need to invent words and shout all the time. Who the hell says "delish!" anyway?
seven-ate-9 03/28/08
I heard she stood in for some of the Joker scenes that Ledger wasn't able to complete in the new Batman flick. Good lookin' out Rach!
OzzieAlThor 03/28/08
Right. Because girls aren't crazy to begin with? Riiiiiiight.
double_agent 03/28/08
She's supposedly a complete jerk in real life off camera. The whole thing is just an act. Yeah, who DOES say "delish"?!
Liz 03/29/08
I don't think it is normal for someone to be that happy all the time. I can't watch anything with her in it. MadTV did a really funny spoof of her when she supposed to spend only a certain amount of money. She gets a cheap meal but expensive drinks.
shaggydan 03/30/08
wow, demetri taking things to another level.

Just telling it like it is, Dan.
