As far as "mannies" go, Charles In Charge was way more fun to watch than Who's the Boss.

Charles In Charge was more fun. Its theme song kicked butt! Scott Baio was young & cute and his buddy, Willie Ames was a great loose cannon who provided a looney tunes wackiness. The 3 kids were cuter and funnier. The young Nicole Eggert was cooler than the young Melissa Milano. And more stories on Charles actually involved dealing with the kids.
Who's The Boss was more about the adults with the typical "Will They?" or "Won't They?" tease that got tired quickly. Plus, Judith Light's character sometimes dominated stories. This show was more for older mature audiences and hence was less fun to watch when seeking comedy.

To be honest I never watched either show too much to argue effectively on this point. But I do have one thing to say that seals the win for me.

Alyssa Milano.

Yeah, Alyssa was HOT in Charmed. I don't dispute that. Nicole was hot in Baywatch, right?
But as far as THIS Throwdown goes, Scott Baio's show was more fun than Tony Danza's show.

Yes, yes... but... For me watching back in the day, as a young boy, seeing Alyssa Milano was..... transformative.

And really, I couldn't tell the difference between Scott and Tony. They were the same to me. If they swapped shows, neither show would change any... and I doubt most people would notice.

Sounds like you had a crush...So did I...on SCOTT BAIO.

There was no difference? Come on!

Scott- cute 20-something in college, living in basement of home in which he cares for three kids, 2 preteen girls & one goofy boy ;he hangs out at his mom's pizza joint and has a best friend who's nuts; he has adventures juggling college, girlfriends, the kids, his mom & his goofy best friend- ultimately it's about Scott and the other kids growing up and learning to be responsible while still having fun along the way

Tony - cute 30-something single dad, father of preteen daughter, shares house with single/widowed? workaholic mother who has a goofy son & perky grandmom (who hangs around but won't commit to caring for her grandson so then Tony must be hired?) Tony flirts with single mom, perky grandmom has adventures, the kids have some adventures, but ultimately its about the grown-ups

For me, watching back in the day, as a young girl, seeing Scott nurturing those girls and being all true blue & honest was...transformative. There WAS life after Joanie Loves Chachi.

LoL. Looks like this throwdown should've been titled:

"As far as 'childhood crushes' go, Scott Baio was way more easy on the eyes to watch than Alyssa Milano. "

Hmm....tough one, but to me Charles will always be a boy, but Tony was a MAN. He was so cute with his accent, the way he said "ANGULA" instead of "ANGELA". And when he took off his shirt, watch out. Italian Stallion all the way.

i'd go with Charles i found it more enjoyable to watch because i felt as a kid watching it that the children on it were more relatable to watch than the over-privelaged Jonathon and the ultra-quirky Samantha on "Who's the Boss", although i did enjoy Katherine helmond as Mona and Judith Light as Angela, i'd still go with Charles In Charge.
