Popular was the best show ever. It was witty, funny, and deep. It delt with reall issues that teens then and now go through. And it delt with it in a humorous way. I loved this show and it shouldn't have ever been cancelled.

Yea i agree that some of those shows were good but how can you deny the power of mary cherry and glamazons. It was a smartly done show and really didn't deserve to be cancelled. I can say the same for veronica mars and freaks and geeks but come on the OC. now that was vapid and shallow televison

ouch...vapid and shallow...you clearly didn't watch all for seasons. yes the characters were shallow in season 1, but by season 4 summer (easily the most shallow character) had become an advocate for seals and was accepted to brown! heck, i'd still be psyched if i got into brown now! the OC revolutionized teen tv. no longer was it the days of 90210 (a giant in it's own right) that talked down to kids, but it was THE show to watch for 4 seasons, and gave all of us a new excuse for wanting to sit home and watch tv in the summer as opposed to <shudder> going out and enjoying the sunshine....
season 3 was a bit of a nightmare, but the second....uh SPOILERS?....
that marissa dies the show was reinvented, caitlin came back (many years older apparently) and there was a new bi--aatch in town....anyway, the oc was just the latest in a line of brillant teen shows that were canceled...i'm sure in a few months we'll have new shows to miss (thank god it won't be gossip girl!)

Although I can't commit to "best" I did love Popular very much -- it had a great group of characters and the actors were all very cute and charismatic. I won't say that it was better than Veronica Mars or My So Called Life, but it was very very good.

Yeah, I will have to say that the OC was starting to redeem itself when it got unjustly cancelled. Gosh, I miss that show!

At least "Popular" HAD more than one season, unlike "My So-Called Life" (I am one of those junkies!) and "Freaks and Geeks." I still occasionally break out those shows and think what could have been.

well i agree that popular was witty, fun and deep, even verging on great--but it was nowhere as powerful or realistic as "My So-Called Life", "Dawson's Creek" or "Life Goes On", not to mention "Buffy", "Gilmore girls" and "party of five".
