Bob Barker was the show, but the throwdown didn't ask if Drew Carey was better than Bob. It asked if he was a good replacement. I think he's just as good as anyone else you could find.

One of my friends was recently on the show, which was the only reason I have tuned in since the departure of Bob. Drew Carey seems like the most arbitrary replacement.

I certainly lost interest in The Price Is Right after Bob Barker left, but I don't think Drew Carey's a terrible replacement for him. Of course no one can truly step in and fill Barker's shoes. The man's an iconic, multi-generational figure. I'd rather clone him and cryogenically freeze him for every decade to ensure immortality with his TPiR stance, but I guess it's time to move on. That doesn't make it any easier, but still...sigh...

Drew doesn't have any heart or apparant interest in hosting the show. He seems to be thinking, what am I doing here? the entire time he's on stage.

no. i would have preferred almost anyone. It's hard enough to replace an icon like Bob Barker but to give us someone so bland and boring is idiotic. I would have much preferred someone like Rosie O'Donnell or one-time front-runner Todd Gold.

I dont know how to vote here. I actually like Drew Carey outside of The Price is Right (I loved his version of Whose Line is it Anyway), and as a replacement in general - I think he was as good as they could get. (The Price is Right will FOREVER be Bob's show to me, though.) I agree with RobGrizzly & charinator - it couldve been ALOT worse! Yes, he does bring a different vibe to the show - but so would anyone else who couldve taken over. It's wierd for someone like me (and probably everyone else out there) who grew up watching Bob host, to see ANYONE else in that position, but like I said before - it couldve been worse. Maybe we should give Drew a chance?
