I love the Addams family- those movies were HILARIOUS. "Don't torture yourself, Gomez-- that's my job." Oh, I loved those growing up! I was such a strange child...

Didn't the Munsters have that hot daughter who wasn't ghoulish in any way?

Yes. And I'll take Christina Ricci any day. I had a crush on her back when the the original came out too. Seems to have not gone away really.

I liked both shows but Addams is easily the better one.
Herman Munster was just too simple and I always hated how the beautiful daughter/niece blonde would be alone & miserable. The family as a whole always seemed to be a bit sad about being misunderstood.
But the Addams Family seemed to relish being different. The main couple of the Addams loved each other a lot and let everybody know it. The kids were demented and naughty, not apologetic. The butler was cool & creepy, Uncle Fester, The Thing... The hip opening music & song... Yup! The Addams Family tv show ruled.

I prefer the Munsters myself, but it'd be nice to see a legitimate argument for them

Ahh yes - I remember those days, staying home sick from school as a kid (or in the summer if it was too hot or raining outside) flipping around the channels and finding those old, black & white monster shows to while away the hours. I always liked The Addams Family WAY better. Far superior theme song too! I always had a problem with how painfully DUMB Herman was. From what I can recall - the Addams's were far funnier AND more clever. So my vote has to go to The Addams Family.
