Like Salemskeeper said, the issue with Spears (as well as Lohan, Paris Hilton and Michael Jackson) deals with a bad foundation for a family. Not that a dysfunctional family sets you to be 100% guaranteed a messed up person, but it doesn't help the cause. As annoying as I think she is, I doubt Miley Cirus will end up on suicide watch like Spears.

Tough to lump anybody in with Britney, and I'd say Miley is leap years apart from being anywhere close to that loony world. However, she still has time and anything's possible

Miley's music seems to be clean-cut teen. She's reaching the tween auidence which is her key demo. She doesn't really care what people "our age" think. She seems to have a father who will not let her turn to a life like many a pop princess. It's lol this throwdown b/c I don't even like Miley Cyrus. I do respect the money she's making & hope her future is a happier ending than most.

Britney Spears' parents seem to be the stereotypical 'showbiz parents', who use her for her talent; she's a mess because, IMHO, they didn't raise her to be humble. I think Billy Ray Cyrus is a much better parent than Britney's, and she'll turn out much better than the Louisiana Pop Tart.

Like to point out Mileys' show one of highest rated on Disney. The kids are lacking in positive role models & this show allows Miley to be just that. It helps her dad Billy Ray is on the show, playing her father & keeping it in line.

i don't think the two are even comparable. Britney Spears is a drugged out, insane wreck who has repeatedly made idiotic choice after idiotic choice. Whereas Miley Cyrus is a confused, impressionable little girl who was very clearly forced into taking risque pictures without really knowing what she was doing or what impact it would have on her life.

I agree that, for now, Miley is the new Britney (popularity-wise). I can only pray that someone will intervene with her before she is allowed to do something that there will be no coming back from. Something that will scar her as much as Britney has been screwed by her own craziness.
