Yes, Leo & Piper were romantic and "good". They courted, were married and had two sons. But for a hot juicy dangerous fantasy love affair, Phoebe & Cole had it all!

*They were a demon/witch Romeo & Juliet
*They were a gorgeous couple
*They had great kissing scenes
*Both characters went to hell and back for each other, literally
*Their stories were full of suspense, passion, excitement, etc. -everything a good story needs
*Once their couple was torn apart, neither character was never the same:
Cole eventually was written out (but he did move on to Nip/Tuck)
Phoebe, although still interesting as a sister & witch, never really was able to have another genuine relationship after her romance with Cole. That last minute marriage with Coop was so unconvincing.

Charmed has had quite a few couples:
Piper & Dan, Piper & Leo, Prue & Andy, Paige & Brody, Paige & Henry, Paige & Richard
and Phoebe was a dating fiend- Leslie, Jason (McSteamy!), Dex (from Sex&TheCity!), just to name a few but the ultimate Charmed couple that was fun to watch and left viewers breathless- Phoebe & Cole!

piper and leo have the most evolved and developed relaionship on the show. it was the couple you were rooting for, counting on, and always wanted to make through. if pheobe and cole were the best, then why didnt it last? cole and pheobe maybe passionate but to me they were one dimensional and lasted way too long, by about half a season. piper and leo never got tired, it was always interesting and was the most realistic thing on the whole entire show.

Piper & Leo were a cute couple BUT after a while, the stories about keeping that couple divided (so they could reunite) just seemed really contrived, especially in Season 8. How many excuses can you create to separate that couple?
Because of the fact that another power couple like Phoebe & Cole didn't exist on the show, it made writers rely heavily on Leo & Piper's continuing saga, which got tiring and repetitive.
Leo, a whitelighter & Elder, was constantly being portrayed as a victim so his character could be separated from his family without him being the bad guy who "abandoned his family". Even when Leo apparently went crazy & joined the Avatars and murdered a fellow Elder. Yeeesh!
I like my romantic leads strong, commanding, looking great shirtless and even when he goes bad, it's with style and grace. That's Cole.
For the sisters, Piper didn't really change much when she was with Leo. His love didn't seem to shake her to the core. Now Phoebe, her romance with Cole made her look into her deepest self, even her evil side. It made her question her love for her sisters, her destiny, ...it altered her whole vision of the world, flipped it upside down. Better TV!

i think it really comes down it what you prefer. i really prefered piper and leo because they were a constant, and solid (though not predictable) and were pretty much the most realistic thing on that show (including the piper-phoebe-paige dynamic.) pheobe and cole to me were to me just another notch under phoebe's belt, and alothuogh enjoyed the fling, didnt think it help the same weight as piper-leo did

Yeah, it's about personal preferences. But it's cool to know there are other Charmed fans on the site!

yeah i much preferred seasons 1-4, after that i feel like they started just paging through a fable book and picking the first mytholgical creature they could find and using it in an episode. season 7 &8 were okay though and the finale was satisfying.

I agree Phoebe and Cole were always interesting and had so much passion. Leo and Piper were adorable and meant to be together but they got kind of boring after a while and I didn't feel the love between them near the end.

I agree 100%! There was something so raw about Cole & Phoebe's love. She saved him from evil so many times, only their love bringing him back. When he married her & she became his dark queen to his Source of all evil... There are no words! He was the one she loved more than anything, and had to destroy him more than once. To have to kill the one you live for, it's beyond this world. They were soo good together, whether good or evil. Neither could ever love someone else that much. Phoebe lost Cole's baby to the Seeer and it crushed her.
I always thought Leo & Piper were boring. Sure they had their share of probs to overcome too, but it didn't have PASSION.

I miss this show! I hate how they left it w/ them changing their appearances & walking away from everything. Felt robbed & cheated aftre so many yrs of faithful viewing.

God!! That last season when they used too many actresses to portray the Charmed Ones was awful. And I hated Billie & Christy!!! How I hated those two. Thankfully the last two episodes ended the series well. It wasn't the best Charmed but it was good.
I actually wished that they had ended the series with Season 7- the girls blowing up the manor and walking off to an unshown better life, with Darryl (an original character from Season One) smiling as he looks on, knowing that they survived.

When Billie came to the show, it was pretty much over. That's when it sank into...crap. Filling a quality show w/ unimportant & unneccessary characters is the last leg of the race. It was only a matter of time from there.
The last 2 episodes wrapped up all the "loose ends" but ending didn't do show any justice. Wasn''t the worst ending, but definately not the best.

Phoebe and Cole did have passion but I never rooted for them to be together the way I rooted for Piper and Leo. Phoebe was with so many guys that I didn't get the feeling that even Cole was her one true love. But Piper and Leo? Aaaahhh...that was eight seasons of holding my breath and wondering if they'd make it or not. Any new guy in Piper's life didn't stand a chance because he'd have to live up to Piper's one true love...Leo. I'm so glad they made it in the end.
