I bet Widmore can't be killed because 'the Island won't let him die", just like what Tom said to Michael. Widmore bought the Black Rock diary at that auction, and they explained that The BR had been captained by Tovar Hanso, blah, blah, who died on an Island, where his journal was discovered and returned to his family. That was like, 200 years ago, I think. So anyway, Hanso's descendents (the Hanso who funded Dharma) decided to sell off the journal at auction,a nd Widmore bought it, and who knwos what secrets about the Island it has in it? The only way I can figure out that W thinks the Island is his is something having to do with that diary. Or maybe Widmore can't die because he's immortal. Maybe he learned the time trip thing, too......AAAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH! This is the best show that's ever been on TV! Head frying, gotta stop.

The Island won't let Widmore die, that's why Ben said, "I can't kill you". I think they had an agreement, too, and Widmore broke it by sending the freighter crew in armed for battle. When Alex got killed (I'm still on the verge of tears over that), Ben's reaction, "He changed the rules", kinda referred to the whole thing. Ben's been bluffing the Losties all along, SAYING the Freighties would kill everyone on the Island, blah, blah, knowing that he and W had made a deal that they WOULN'T attack; one of his famous bluffs, like the one that got Alex killed. I want to shake Ben to pieces.
